The Chinese Communist Revolution

Not to be confused with the Chinese Civil War, the Chinese Communist Revolution is a smaller event that began in 1946, when the USSR backed communists, and KMT backed by the United States attempting to bleed into China. For over twenty years the west blocked off any trade in the UN that could lead to a communist China. After the end of the Revolution, less than a year later the troops would be fighting in the Korean War.

Cuban Revolution

In 1959, the news of Fidel Castro's revolution in Cuba shook the US. The US economy took a direct hit because at the time the US owned a half of all the railway systems in Cuba. Castro wanted to overthrow the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista, whos corrupt government had been backed by the States for a long while. The Americans played both sides, weakening Batistas and inciting anger into Castro. In 1961, invasion forces were taken to Cuba. The US believed this would face citizen backlash, but they did not realize how much Castro did for the population. The defeat that followed came at the same time the USSR made a development in the Space Race. After this, the USSR began sending missiles and personnel into Cuba.
