This could pose a future barrier to access any field-based events for communities that don’t have time, access to transportation etc. Also, in the urban areas where many diverse community members live, work and play, waterways are sometimes difficult and dangerous to access and many streams are piped into culverts, making waterways a challenging thing to see and experience. Clean, healthy urban streams (and waterways in general) may not be valued if they are not readily tangible in a day to day lived experience.
