This units learning target was ¨My art will convey a message to my audience / My artwork will reflect personal feelings, likes, or dislikes¨. For this Unit we had to make collage using any material we could find and the methods we were taught in schoology. My collage was made with tissue and construction paper layered over newspaper to created shape. I put little tree and people in the fore and middleground to create depth. This piece convey my love for nature and the color orange.

This units learning target was ¨My art will convey a message to my audience / My artwork will reflect personal feelings, likes, or dislikes¨. I went back to my roots with this project and did a more conventional drawing. I created a character I used to draw a lot in my sketchbooks. I conveyed a feeling of exhaustion and frustration through this drawing.

Redo - If you could redo any one piece in your portfolio, which would it be and why? What would you do differently?

If there was a project I could completely do over it would be my third piece. The object project is probably the sloppiest of my works. While I like the material I used, I feel like I could have used them better or more neatly.

Overall - Reflect on what your portfolio may not reveal about the semester. Do you think the work in your portfolio is an accurate reflection of you as an artist?

My portfolio does not reflect the experimenting I did over the semester. It also does not show the changes I made during the creation of the pieces. Some projects had a plan which was completely different from how I actually finished them. I think it does however accurately reflect me as an artist. I am somebody who likes to stick to my roots but is also willing to show creativity to bring something new to life.

Strong vs Weak - Describe the strongest work and the weakest work in your portfolio. How did you determine what work was “strong” and “weak”?

I would personally say my strongest art project was my first one. The non-representational work was an expression of my creativity and my ability as an artist. I tried my absolute best to create something completely unique. I would say my weakest project was the second one of the semester. The architecture project, in terms of meaning, is definitely lacking. For one the work itself is quite generic. I did have to overcome some hardship due to the pen mishap, but apart from that the drawing itself doesn't mean anything to me.

Easy vs Difficult - Describe the easiest assignment to complete and the most difficult assignment to complete. What was the difference between an “easy” and “difficult” assignment?

By far the easiest project for me was the natural one. While it was not a traditional drawing, the motion was essentially the same. The piece I created was also something I drew a lot when I was younger. The hardest project was definitely the collage piece. The landscape project took the longest in terms of time. It also went through the most trial and error. Difference between easy and hard difficulty is a combination how much that project consist of what you are used to and how long it takes.

This units learning project is ¨ I will incorporate new skills and/or techniques into my work¨. Instead of doing the more conventional drawing that I like to do, I used a scratch board. it is a kind of paper where instead of drawing on it, you scratch layers off of it to reveal colorful layer underneath. I used this method to scratch on an avian eye into the paper.

I met this target by attempting use pen to create shading, but it did not work out. I had to cut another paper and draw on it to replace the ruined section. I created a drawing which was made in pencil and outlined in pen.

This Unit learning target was ¨I will experiment with new art-making methods¨. My piece was a collage using piece of watercolor paper in various sizes. The paper was then glued onto another paper covered with the leftover colors that came of the other watercolor papers
