Can rosters be manually created for staff? Our team (tutors and resource specialists) aren't tied to scholars in the SIS. It would be really helpful to have them available on our staff dashboard so we had easier access to their information.

Historical contact notes

The contact manager shows notes for the 23-24 school year (starting on 8/29). In order to see contact notes from July-August need to be searched for manually by putting a date. Is there a setting to see all notes? Going back through each school year doesn't provide all the historical notes, it is tedious, and not all staff are aware of this so it may appear there has been no contact.

Contact manager notes should be a student records under FERPA and IDEA so they can be requested in a student records request and can be requested by a parent. I did not think a supeona is required, it only takes a request from parent or authorized person by the parent ( attorney, advocate)

Do ES have access to all links also? They are also teachers with responsibilities for the sis, which we have not utilized to the maximum possible.

Can the person listed on a scholars dashboard, especially for example the Primary/Lives With, sign an MA or IEP? Or is that something we need to check into further? Like especially scholars that have custody issues or MKV or other?

Are we adding a link to 23-24 PLP under student notes this year? And what does the share setting need to be on the PLPs for that purpose?

Question: I've been having frequent prompting to change my password to login to the SIS lately. Then sometimes it won't take the password I've just changed it to. Is this a temporary bug?

I would recommend placing an IT helpdesk ticket. It depends on which scope you changed your password. If you changed it from a specific scope like in Yolo, LA, or SD, then it could be the reason why. Your password should only be changed in oversight so that it connects to each of the child scopes. Our IT department should be able to assist you with this though.

Question: Are we allowed to share personally identifiable info with other teachers?

Yes, as long as they have a legitimate educational interest and are a school official at Compass.

Can we disclose PII to our vendors if they would like to know how a scholar is doing academically?
