Recap in your own words: Thomas Jefferson wrote this while they were still in the war for independence, so they weren't even independent yet. But he listed all of the reasons why the should break up, it was just a big break up letter.

Recap in your own words: The British wanted to take control of New York and Hudson River, but a huge turning point was when the french joined the patriots, and helped the colonist in the end.

Who won and why: The colonist, because they had the French helping them who brought their ships, which was a big deal in the war.

Recap in your own words: This was the last battle of the American Revolution, which was a pretty big deal. The colonist were trying to trick the red coats by making fake letters about their "plans". And the french came to help the colonist.

Who won and why: The colonist, because British General Lord Cornwallis surrendered.

Recap in your own words: The British decided that the war was too costly and surrendered, which is why they wrote the treaty, to make peace. This also set the boundaries of the U.S. and each side would pay their debts of the war.

Who won and why: It was a Pyrrhic victory, because the colonist surrendered but the British had so many more casualties, which lead the colonies to say they won.
