Good day! I am Maxine Erika A. Ang Espina, a 1st year BSA student from Mapua Malayan Colleges of Mindanao. My top 5 Philippine Pop Culture interests are related to what I do everyday and watch or listen during my free time. The first one is the Pop Music, recently I enjoy listening to different artists that are into Pop or songs with good beats like “Hev abi” and “MayMay Entrata”. The second one is Soap opera genre which is the “Abot-kamay na Pangarap” teleserye in GMA that can be watched via TV or live in Youtube. When I was a child, my third one is the “Komik” it’s is a type of book/magazine wherein what is illustrated are drawn in its simplest form. The fourth interest is Film which is “Ma’am Chief” because it is unique and the shooting of the film takes place in Korea. The last and fifth one is the uniqueness in the Filipino food, like adobo and sisig.

Now, consider the theory of Uses and Gratifications. According to this theory, people deliberately select the media they listen to or watch depending on what they need or desire.
