The more vocabulary words a student knows the better understanding they will have of the text (Colorado, C. 2022). I predict. Students can read books how with their families and by looking at the cover of a book make predictions on what the book is about, and brainstorm through the pictures to see what the ending will be. Students can use the five-finger retell to identify:
1-Characters- who was in the story
2-Setting- where the story took place
3-Events-what happened in the story
4-End-how did the story begin
5-Favorite character or part of the story
