Mountain Men were men that would explore and live in the wilderness. You were most common to find them in the Northern American Rock Mountains in the time period of 1810 to 1880.
Mountain Men struggled in the Mountains still being just ordinary people they faced many things such as starvation, dehydration, predators, Indians, freezing to death, or over heating. No one knows what made these explorers overcome these problems which makes them that much more extraordinary.
Why did Mountain Men become extinct then if they could overcome all that?
Well a treaty was made causing migrations, and once that happened Mountain Men could no long make a living on Fur Trapping which forced them to find a new way of living.

Child Labor was created in Britain in 1803. Men had created Child labor so they could work 12 hours day working. Children under the age of 9 wouldn't be forced to work. Children 9-11 would work a 8 hour day. Children 11-18 would work 12 hour days in factories, and cotton mills.
With no appreciation for the heat, or well fare of the children many of them died. As early as 1803- 1819 child labor had became more popular as more, and more children worked at the factories.
You may be wondering it couldn't get worse than this right? WRONG, in from 1820-1920s child labor was at its peak! During the America Industrial Revolution more children would be put to work into rural lands, urban areas, and factories.
Child Labor was finally made against the wall in the 1930s due to response setbacks.
Do you wonder what you'd be doing today if no one ever responded?

Have you ever wondered what some of the best inventions were in the past 1,000 years? I'm here to tell you!
The 1st best invention in History is the Printing Press made by Johannes Gutenberg in 1440. The printed press was used in 1450 to print photo's, and pictures for people. Though it's main job was too shoot commercials, and show everyone Johannes new invention so he'd make money.
The 2nd best invention is the Electric Light made by Thomas Edison in New Jersey Menlo Park, 1879. The electric light was made from platinum filament, and was only made to burn a few short hours. It's main purpose was to support light for people to see where there going when the sun wasn't out.
The 3rd best invention is the Auto Mobile made by Karl Benz on January 29th, 1886. The auto mobile was made gas powered, and with a birth certificate number, so you would be able to track it down. This invention was made to replace horses, on the trail, and be a faster transporter. When it was made it allowed people more access to jobs, and services since it could travel longer. People were setting up fuel shops for cars, that made money so it boosted the economy. It also negatively affected people too though, by polluting the air with it's gas.
Would you go for one of these Cars?

You might ask why are we talking about the election of 1860? Why is it different the any other election? Well I'm here to tell you.
The election of 1860 was different, because it demonstrated the divisions of the United States just before the Civil War. Also in 1860 there was a Constitutional part that had the first run for candidate president.
The people who ran for president in 1860 were Abraham Lincoln, John Bell, Josh Breckenridge, and Stephen Douglas. In the end there was a four way contest of the republican part, and Abraham Lincoln had won!
I wonder though, why did Abraham Lincoln winning start a war?
It caused a war, because Lincoln wanted to expand the movement of ending Slavery across the world, and some people disagreed with that. Causing riots, and injuries, the Civil War had happened, and that day marked the election, and year of 1860.
Do you think the Civil War is a good reason to remember this year? (1860)

You might be wondering, How are South America's strategist's different from North America's strategies'. Well I'm going to tell you!
During the Civil War the North, and South thought this was gonna be a quick war. They were both wrong.
The North's plan was too stop all the South's recourse. Then the south wouldn't have food, water, weapons, etc causing a blockade. Then the North would use the Mississippi river to sneak up on the South, and invade them. They had to be quick, and quiet so the South wouldn't hear or see them coming.
The South's plan was rather simple. Instead of taking offense they would play defense until the North gave up. So South's plan wasn't that planned out that much.
Which one out of the two had the better plan?
