Summer Literature: "To The Bone"

My favorite form of literature is film and television. The Netflix original "To The Bone" is based on real life events when a person struggles with a mental and physical illness like anorexia. This movie truly gives an inside look into the way people with mental illnesses feel and the different ways they process things. I enjoyed watching this movie the most out of everything I watched because I personally relate to the main characters in the movie as I too have struggled with the same issues. The movie centers around a young artist whose artwork inspires one girl to commit suicide. The girls parents take it upon themselves to blame the artist for their daughters death which leaves the artist with a lot of mental and emotional scares. The audience watches as the struggling artist goes through her journey to recovery. This movie sheds a much needed realistic light on the hard truths people face when recovering from a mental illness.
