How the armadillo is protected by it's shell

Armadillos are western mammals known for their unique armor-like shell called a carapace. An armadillo's armor is made up of overlapping plates covering the back, head, legs and tail. The three-banded armadillo is the only type of armadillo that can roll itself into a ball when endangered. The armadillo tucks its head and legs into its shell to be fully protected. The key to the three-banded defense mechanism is in its shell a combination of bone and a tough tissue coating. About 2,000 tiny scales are composed of the protein keratin and make up the shell. The shell is divided into the anterior scapular shield.

How the shell can help humans

Over the years, we see millions of homes being demolished due to tragic storms. The shell can help protect homes during these storms. The armadillo shell can also save lives of those who live in the homes. Since the armadillo shell provides all around protection, houses also need something strong enough to endure storms and have an armor-like shell for protection. If people were provided with this protection, they will not have to worry about the devastation of severe storms and will be able to keep their home. They will feel comfortable knowing their house is protected, and they will not have to evacuate and leave their belongings behind. Many houses, and lives can be saved by having the armadillo shell to fully protect their homes.

Prototype two has more coverage of the house. The shell is also connected to the ground, and wraps around the whole house even protecting the roof. Unlike prototype 1, there is more protection added. It also shows how the shell feature will be connected to the ground around the house so strong forceful winds will not move the shell from the home.

Prototype 3 has completely full coverage of the home. As you can see, the armor-like shell is still attached to the ground, and the shell will be activated when the owner pushed the "storm protection" button. This prototype has changed tremendously from the first prototype. The first prototype di not really have any protection besides the roof, and the protection shell was not fully stable. In prototype 2 the shell became stable by coming from the ground, and wrapped around the house, only having the front unprotected. The final prototype has complete protection, and has the shell stable connected to the ground to sustain strong winds.

We see many houses destroyed due to tragic weather all around the U.S.. We also see innocent lives being taken when some of these storms hit. So how can we protect homes, and lives from these storms? While researching the armadillo's armor-like shell and how it protects the armadillo from danger, houses could be fully protected by an armor-like shell during tragic storms.
