As a graphic novel, this text is different from books that I've read previously. Its illustrations are descriptive and vivid, and I feel that it thoroughly represents the emotions of the people involved in the civil rights movement. Lewis' development from a child living on a farm in the South to an experienced Congressman was very inspiring and easy to follow.

This series is a classic in the fantasy genre, and it was one of my favorites in elementary and middle school. The books, as well as the movies, have captivating descriptions of a world with a unique magic system. The four houses of Hogwarts really made me reflect on the qualities that I identified with and those wanted to possess in the future.

In middle school, I read many of Alan Gratz's books, such as Refugee, Grenade, and Prisoner B-3087, on my own or with my English class. They are historical fiction, generally about war in the 20th century, such as WWII, and its effects. Although, on my own time, I always read books that are entirely fictional, these books moved me with narratives that were representative of many people who experienced these conflicts.

I read this book last year in American Literature II. Initially, I was constantly annoyed by Holden and his unusual, erratic behavior. However, the concept of Holden's alienation, especially due to his trauma over the death of his brother, made the book meaningful. The idea of saving children from the hardships of adulthood also resonated with me, bringing a thoughtful take on teenage rebellion.

This movie, though over 80 years old, is iconic and timeless. The characters are all endearing, and their friendship throughout the adventure makes the movie enjoyable. The idea of the heart, which the Tin Man strongly desires, also impacted my thinking. It was fascinating to watch him learn that he already possessed the qualities that he associated with having a heart, which teaches a lesson about the importance of compassion and empathy.
