This is my First Review over the Caldecott Award Winner, The Hello, Goodbye Window.

I think this book is an extraordinary book because it encourages children to use their imagination. Everything happens near , through and beyond the window. All of her experiences with the window comes from her imagination. Her Nanna says that it is a magical window and anybody can come along when you least expect it. Her Nanna encouraged her to use her imagination and think there are dinosaurs outside, and she sees them. I also think the bright and bold illustrations encourage young readers to be open minded and see past what is on the paper.

I like it for many different reasons. It is over 500 pages long, but the incredible art work takes up more than half of the book. It is a quick read that leaves you infatuated with the story. He composes a hybrid of a heartfelt story about an orphan, the history of early cinema, the mechanics of clocks and other machinery, and a little speck of magic! He puts together art work and literature to combine them to make a wonderful Historical Fiction Novel.

This is my Letter to Professor Soloman on the Banned book The Lorax

Dear Professor Soloman, this book has been one of my favorites for so long! I was never aware that it was a banned book. I then looked it up and found out the reasons it was banned. It was banned because it put a bad image on the foresting industry. Some people thought it was trying to portray you to be against logging. I always thought this was one of Dr. Seuss' best work! It was not only one of my favorite books but also one of my favorite movies while I was growing up! When I was younger, I didn't take that message negatively. I do realize now how some people could take it that way, but I still do not think it is negative.

Sincerely,
Jillian Hart

Down Girl and Sit On The Road is the book for you. I would recommend this book to any young reader. It is an easy read with a funny storyline. In the book, Down Girl and Sit are the pets to two friends that like to go on outdoor adventures. At the beginning of the story the men take Down Girl and Sit to the beach. An unfortunate event happens and Down Girl accidently started to drive the car! Sit was in the passenger seat scared for her life! The next trip they went on it was just Down Girl and Rruff. They went camping and a huge storm happened. They ended up having to stay in their car! Then... Rruff took Down Girl to the vet. She was scared at first then she realized it wasn't so bad and she got cookies! I would recommend this book because of its funny story line and great illustrations.

This is my Blog Response for my first Traditional Tale book, Scary Stories to tell in the Dark.

I remember when I was little, my cousins and I would always tell scary stories at night to try and scare each other. We would turn off all of the lights and get a flashlight and put it under our chins for a scary light effect. In the book, Scary Stories to tell in the Dark, it uses crazy illustrations for the young readers to have open minds and use their imagination. I think it is a good story to read in a classroom because everyone has different imaginations so every child will react to these stories differently.

I have included a website that covers each of the scary stories more in-depth.

This is my Third Book Review over my Second Caldecott Award Winner, This is not my hat.

I think This is not my Hat is a good book because it is an easy read for young readers, includes good sight words, and displays stunning illustrations. In this book a small fish takes a hat from a big fish while he is sleeping. He thinks that the bigger fish wont realize that it is gone, and if he does, he wont know it is him who stole his hat. The small fish says he is going to a place where the trees grow tall and close together so he big fish will not find him. At the end of the story, it shows the big fish swimming away from the smaller fish's hiding spot while wearing his hat. It leaves the reader to infer that he ate the small fish to get his hat back. I think it is a good book but with humor directed towards older readers.

This is my Second Recommendation over the Pura Belpre Award Winner, Just a Minute.

I would recommend this short colorful book to any young reader! I think it is a good idea for children to learn atleast a slim amount of Spanish. In this book, it teaches the reader how to count to ten in Spanish. The illustrations are incredibly colorful and it makes it exciting to read. In this book, it shows a man trying to get Grandma Beetle to go with him. In the story she makes it clear that she would go with him right after she finishes doing a chore. After she is done with one chore, she has to do another one. Senor Calavera is starting to get impatient with her. After awhile of waiting, the doorbell rings and all nine of her grandchildren come over for her birthday party! Once the party is over, Grandma Beetle looks for Senor Calavera but he is no where to be found. He left a note saying how much fun he had at the party and will not miss it next year. This story was so intriguing it left me wondering where he originally wanted to take Grandma Beetle! I would definitely recommend this book to a young reader.

This is my First Defining Quote over my Coretta Scott King Award Winner, Words to my life's song.

In the book, there is one quote that stood out to me. He says, "Now a rainbow arches its band of colors from the mountains to the ocean. No matter how many times I see this, I gasp in wonder, time and time again". The way I interpret this quote, is that even though he always sees rainbows, he still is in shock by all of the unknown beauty they bring. Ashley Bryan grew up in a very dark time, known as the Great Depression. During that time, he includes that people were poor, jobless and also homeless. The government offered free art and music classes across the country. His parents signed all of his siblings and him up. Living in such a dark and "depressed" era, art really made him happy and his imagination stand out. He learned that he enjoyed art so much and it let him feel free. His art is an inspiration to people of all ages. He currently lives in Little Cranberry Island, Maine.

This is my Second Letter to my Professor over my second poetry book, Seuss-isms!

Dear Professor Soloman,
Dr. Seuss has always been one of my favorite authors. I remember reading this book titled, "Seuss-isms!" when I was a small child. In this book it has many different small poems in one book. It also has life lessons! One of them says, "Respect your elders! You must not hop on pop" By saying that it gives children ideas to be nice to your elders. It also says "Focus! This was no time for play. This was no time for fun. This was no time for games. There was work to be done. " This also tells little kids that there is a time and place for fun but when there is work to be done, you must focus.

This is my Second Blog about my Second Traditional Tale, Goldilocks.

I remember reading this story multiple times when I was a young child. I have always loved this traditional tale! In the story, there are three bears. It was, Poppa Bear, Momma Bear and Baby Bear. The decided to make porridge for breakfast. It was too hot for the bears to eat so they decided to take a walk while it cooled down. While they were gone, Goldilocks was walking and just so happened to smell the delicious porridge. She wandered into their houses and started to eat their meal. She first tried to eat Poppa Bear's bowl and it was way too hot! She yelled "YEOW!" Then she tried Momma Bear's bowl and it was too hot as well! Lastly, she tried Baby Bear's. It was perfect!! Then she was so full she decided she needed to take a nap. She sat on the chair and broke it! She then decided to jump in their bed! The bears got back and saw all of their food was missing! Baby Bear noticed his chair was broken in pieces! They went up stairs and saw Goldilocks asleep in the Babies bed! Poppa Bear let out a loud growl and she got up and ran all the way home!

This is my Sixth Review over my First Fantasy Novel, The Lightning Thief.

I think The Lightning Thief is one of my favorite books I have ever read! I remember reading it my seventh grade year for school. We had a book club and got to choose what book we wanted to read. I love this book for many reasons. The first reason why I enjoy reading this book so much is because I like how it includes Mythical creatures and the Mythical Gods. I also LOVE the fact that they reach out to children with disabilities. Percy has ADHD and Dyslexia. I like how they make it to where children with disabilities are unique and that it is not so much as a weakness, but a strength. It is also a medium reading level. It is not so hard to read as lets say... Harry Potter! I love this book and always have!

This is my Fourth Recommendation over my second fantasy book, Frog in Space

I would recommend this book so any young reader looking for a book that is fun and exciting to read! In the book, an alien family landed on earth to get water! Wilma was chasing her breakfast from flying away, and she came across the alien ship! She was trying to be quite but it didn't work! The aliens grabbed her by the arm thinking she was Blooger and took her back to space with them in their ship! Then, the fly she was chasing started to buzz in space with them. She started chasing the fly all around the ship. That is when they realized they had picked up Wilma! The spaceship ZOOMED through the sky back to space. The delivered Wilma and picked up Blooger! Once they had Blooger then launched back into the sky! I think young readers would love this book because it is very interesting and fun to read.
