One out of every 3 people have "staph" on their skin...sometimes, this staph bacteria can enter into the body and produce a tiny cluster of MRSA. Most infections are minor, but sometimes it can become a "superbug". This term is used when the bacteria doesn't respond to many antibiotics. MRSA has been linked to systemic infections such as pneumonia and sepsis.

MRSA is tougher to treat than most strains of staph infections. Oral antibiotics, such as Clindmyacin, Linezolid, and Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole will treat MRSA. Common antibiotics from the Penicillin family or Cephalosporin family may not be effective. Intravenous Vancomycin may be necessary.
