The easiest way to remember how to write a paragraph is to think about a sandwich. A sandwich has three basic parts to it. It has a top piece of bread, ingredients in the middle, and a piece of bread at the bottom. This is the way a paragraph works as well.
The top piece of bread in the sandwich is like your topic sentence. Your topic sentence is the most important part of your paragraph because it tells readers exactly what they can expect to read about in the following sentences. The middle part of the sandwich is the supporting sentences. Supporting sentences help to provide information about your topic sentence. The two most common types of paragraphs usually written academically for university are reason paragraphs or example paragraphs, so in your sandwich each of the ingredients, each supporting sentence, must be a reason why what you've written in your topic sentence or an example of what you've written in your topic sentence. The last piece of bread in the sandwich is your conclusion. A conclusion is also a vital part of the sandwich because if you don't have that bottom piece of bread, the sandwich will just fall apart. If you don’t have a good conclusion, readers will feel unsatisfied by your paragraph. This English lesson will go into more detail about all of these points!

Formula for a Basic Paragraph:

Topic Sentence.

Transition, Supporting sentence 1.

Transition, Supporting sentence 2.

Transition, Supporting sentence 3.

Transition, Conclusion.

Steps for writing a Paragraph in English:

Think about the topic carefully + consider the question you need to answer

Write clear topic sentence

Brainstorm list of ideas

Choose best 3 or more ideas from list

Write a supporting sentence starting with a transition for each item chosen

*For expanded paragraphs: write one or more detail sentence for each supporting sentence to give more information about that item

Write a strong conclusion starting with a transition

now the 80/20 rule is also called the
Pareto principle named after its founder
the Italian economist vilfredo pareto in
1895 he noticed that people in society
seemed to divide naturally into what he
called the vital few or the top 20% in
terms of money property and influence
and the trivial many for the bottom 80%
later he discovered that virtually all
economic activity was subject to this
same principle in the 80% of the wealth
of Italy during that time was controlled
by 20% of the population we can take
Pareto's 8020 rule and apply it to
almost any situation in particular we
can apply it to goal-setting and
productivity according to this principle
20% of your activities will account for
80% of your results that means if you
have a list of 10 items to accomplish
two of those items will turn out to be
worth more than the other 8 items put
together the sad fact is that most
people procrastinate on the top 10 or
20% of items that are the most valuable
and important the vital few that account
for all your success and instead they
busy themselves with the least important
80% the trivial many that contribute
very little or nothing to their success
so here's what you should do in order to
effectively apply the 80/20 rule to
goal-setting and to your overall
productivity first
a piece of paper and write down ten
goals then ask yourself if you could
only accomplish one of the goals on that
list today within 24 hours which one
goal would have the greatest positive
impact on your life I asked this
question of my clients all over the
world what is your most important goal
in life right now which you need to know
by the way if you want to be successful
then pick the second most important goal
what you'll find is that after you
complete this exercise you will have
determined the most important 20% of
your goals that will help you more than
anything else you do second you should
work at those goals that you have chosen
all the time you often see people who
appear to be busy all day long but seem
to accomplish very little this is almost
always because they are busy working on
tasks that are of low value or no value
while they are procrastinating on the
one or two activities that can make a
real difference to their companies and
to their careers the most valuable tasks
you can do each day are often the
hardest and most complex but the payoff
and rewards for completing them can be
tremendous they can actually change your
whole future before you begin work
always ask yourself is this task in the
top 20% of my activities or is it in the
bottom 80% the rule for this is simple
resist the temptation to clear up small
things first that's the greatest killer
we become so involved in little things
and little things multiply they just
become more and more at the end of the
day your disaster and you've
accomplished nothing if you choose to
start your day working on low value
tasks you'll soon develop the habit of
always starting and working on low
you tasks you'll be like a horse that
pulls the wheel around in a circle all
day never makes any progress finally I
want to tell you about a study has just
been done about the attitudes of rich
people versus poor people with regard to
goal-setting what they found is that 85%
of rich people have one big goal that
they work on all the time only 3% of
poor people have a big goal and they
don't work on it very much so if you
want to be wealthy do what wealthy
people do pick one big goal and work on
it all the time and if you do it will
change your life now before we wrap up

How to Write a Perfect Paragraph

Paragraphs are distinct blocks of text which section out a larger piece of writing—stories, novels, articles, creative writing or professional writing pieces—making it easier to read and understand. Good paragraphs are a handy writing skill for many forms of literature, and good writers can greatly enhance the readability of their news, essays, or fiction writing when constructed properly.

What Makes a Good Paragraph?

A good paragraph is composed of a topic sentence (or key sentence), relevant supporting sentences, and a closing (or transition) sentence. This structure is key to keeping your paragraph focused on the main idea and creating a clear and concise image.

While creative writing does not necessarily follow the traditional paragraph structure, it’s more about scene building and continuing a narrative. Efficient, well-written paragraphs are a staple of good flash fiction and short fiction writing, as short stories need to stay more focused on a central idea. As long as your sentences form cohesive ideas and connect to one another, you can write a good paragraph.

Meet One of Your New
5 Tips for Structuring and Writing Better Paragraphs

Whether you’re writing a short paragraph or a long paragraph, each should follow the same basic rules of structure. While this format is not as rigid when writing fiction as it is for non-fiction, the information or story you craft must logically or sequentially relate to the next paragraph. These elements help the coherency of your body paragraphs, tying them together to unify around an idea, or set up a narrative story.

Make the first sentence of your topic sentence. The first line of your first paragraph sets up what information is to come as your audience reads on. Even in fiction, the introduction of a paragraph either establishes an idea or scenario or continues one from the paragraph before. Regardless of what format or genre you’re writing for, every good paragraph starts with a central focus that the rest of the paragraph will aim to support.

Provide support via the middle sentences. These sentences include follow-up information to your key sentence or previous paragraph. Whatever idea you aim to convey, these sentences are where you convince your reader to believe or envision what you do, and give them everything they need to see your point of view.

Make your last sentence a conclusion or transition. Even if it’s not at the end of the piece, a conclusive sentence can refer to the last line of its own paragraph, which concludes a particular idea or train of thought before moving on to start a new line for the next paragraph. This next paragraph can continue on the same idea, but the ending of each paragraph should briefly summarize the information that was provided before moving on.

Know when to start a new paragraph. A paragraph break is necessary when starting a new topic, introducing a new speaker, contrasting other POVs or ideas, or providing white space to give readers a pause from a longer paragraph. For example, in a novel, you may start a new paragraph when bringing in a new character, or specify when a different character is speaking, which can help the reader separate action text from dialogue more readily. Paragraph breaks can control the pacing of your writing, and generate particular feelings or moods for your reader. While there is no set amount of sentences required per paragraph, in some instances, a single paragraph may consist of a single sentence, but it is acceptable as long as it supports your central idea, and doesn’t overwhelm your audience with too much information.

Use transition words. Transition words help tie together separate paragraphs, connecting them to form a coherent idea. Phrases like “in addition” or “moreover” can help readers track your ideas and understand how they relate to each other, making for a smoother, more pleasant reading experience. This is especially useful for essay writers and bloggers, who often focus on a singular idea at a time to share with their audience.

Have you ever heard of the 80/20 rule? Originally, the Pareto Principle first started, as the story goes, in 1906 as an observation back in Italy by a man named Vilfredo Pareto. He noticed how 80% of Italy’s wealth belonged to only 20% of the population, And in a different case of how 20% of the pea pods in his garden produced 80% of the peas. Again, just to clarify, the Pareto Principle first started as an observation and not a law of nature that most things in life are not distributed evenly. What does this have to do with achieving more by working less? Let’s talk about it! The Pareto Principle helps you realize that the majority of results come from a minority of inputs. In short, 20% of the input creates 80% of the result. Or vice versa that 80% of the input creates 20% of the results. Interestingly, in today’s current day and age, Vilfredo is still not far off that 20% of the world's population controls about 82.7% of wealth.

So…

Here’s a story for you to understand how it 80/20 can affect people’s lifestyle, There are 2 guys. One is Fred and the other is Jerry. Fred is a hardworking man. He’s the guy that you always see him working nonstop, at his job, at home, almost everywhere, he’s on the run trying to get tasks done. Trying to pay the bills, trying fix things, manage everything! And there is Jerry. This man is kinda like the opposite of Fred. He works about 3 hours a day, and the rest of the day he does whatever he wants, when he wants, and seems to always have the ability to enjoy hanging out with his friends and family.
Now…

Let me ask you something… Who do you think is more productive? If you thought Fred, well… In this case, Fred was actually the busiest guy but not the most productive. You see, being busy doesn’t mean productive and that’s where the 80/20 rule comes into play. I said Jerry has the ability to work 3 hours a day, and he gets to do whatever he wants afterwards. Fred is working hard, but with the observation of the 80/20 rule, 80% of his effort is yielding 20% of the results. Jerry on the other hand, learned early on how to use his time more efficiently into tasks that takes 20% of his effort that produces 80% results. Now, don’t take me wrong that I am not saying hard work is a bad thing. Like I said, you can work hard with many of times working inefficiently so it’s always important to keep that in mind to make sure your work is productive.

You see…

The 80/20 is what I use it to analyze productivity and business tasks, buying groceries, learning skills or allocating free time. Here’s a couple of life examples I had in life because I asked the 80/20 rule question. Example number 1, 20% of my tasks were bringing me 80% of the results in a specific business goal, which led to making those tasks top priority.

In other words, which things you should be doing on your own and which you should delegate or even remove from your schedule. When you find something that is yielding more results, place your focus there and your time will be used more efficiently thus you will able to become more productive.

Time is the most valuable currency.

It’s unreplaceable.

It is something you can’t get back.

By applying the 80/20 principle, your ability to better control your time on what yields the most results will help YOU IMPROVE DRASTICALLY.

The middle part of the sandwich is the supporting sentences.

The first lesson you need to know is you must know the difference between an asset and a liability, and that you need to buy assets. The rich acquire assets and the poor and middle class acquire liabilities but sometimes they think they are assets. The primary cause of financial struggle is simply not knowing the difference between an asset and a liability. An asset is something that puts money in my pocket.

A liability is something that takes money out of my pocket. Poor dad was making quite a lot of money from his job but his expenses seemed to always keep up with his income, never allowing him to invest in assets. As a result his liabilities grew greater over time and this is the fault of having income equals expense and assets is less than liabilities. This is our reality for most people your profession is your income.

The rich, your assets is your income.

How to Write a Perfect Paragraph

Paragraphs are distinct blocks of text which section out a larger piece of writing—stories, novels, articles, creative writing or professional writing pieces—making it easier to read and understand.

What Makes a Good Paragraph?

A good paragraph is composed of a topic sentence , relevant supporting sentences, and a closing sentence. This structure is key to keeping your paragraph focused on the main idea and creating a clear and concise image.
