Dr. Jean Watson

Dr. Jean Watson established the 10 caritas processes to define dynamic ways that care is expressed through human nature. Many of these processes resonated with me and reminded me to keep practicing them every day.

Nel Noddings

Nel Noddings believed that education was a collection of experiences that prepare you for the future. I enjoyed reading about her theory and how she viewed education- its a philosophy that resonates with me and how want to apply it in any type of teaching I provide.

Personal caring endeavor

In 2018 I served in Americorps, in Los Angeles, CA. I packed my bags and moved across the country where I was deployed into a 5th grade classroom in Compton. This year-long experience pushed me and changed who I am as a person. It took a deep sense of empathy and compassion towards my students and peers every day to succeed. It also required immense self-care. I have thought about this experience a lot throughout this course.
