There are HDB buildings in the northern part, landed property in the slightly southern part, and a nature reserve in the southernmost part.

half of Bukit Panjang is filled with HDBs, amenities. the nature reserve does not have as many amenities such as hospitals, schools or supermarkets compared to the dairy farm, saujana, fajar, senjat and bangkit.

The south of BPT is for nature reserve and dairy farm

i think that the town planning of BPT has not been done well. although it has been planned with a purpose, 2 neighbourhoods located in BPT do not get to enjoy many amenities such as religious services and healthcare which are mostly clustered at the east and west of BPT respectively. additionally, there is only one noticeable eating place in the entire BPT, which may make it difficult for residents to access these amenities and thus i do not think that the town planning of BPT has been done well.

so what makes BPT a liveable place

BPT has a nature reserve which is unique. This can help residents develop a sense of belonging. This nature reserve could be significant for the residents as it could hold special meaning to the person .

Now what do you think the BPT community can do to build community identity?

Community events or festivals: Can organize cultural events, food festivals, and heritage walks to celebrate the town’s diversity at community centres.

Resident Lead Interest Clubs: Can encourage clubs for hobbies like gardening, sports, or other activities in residential areas.

Local Heritage Projects: Can add murals or boards showcasing history of BPT in HDB blocks or public areas

So What: The resident of Bukit Panjang can develop a sense of belonging by getting used to their surroundings and the transport also makes it convenient for the residents to travel from place to place within BPT.

Now What: I think the BPT community can conduct public education about the nature reserves such as dairy farm and the central catchment forest so that they can feel uniqueness as a community for being so close to nature.

• at the top of the hierarchies, there are major commerical areas like the plaza and transport terminals where people meet for shopping and dining and for transportation. there are also government facilities like community centres and clinics. there are also precicnts based on hdb planning and the areas have their own amenities like playgrounds, schools, shops. the further away the place is from central areas, the quieter the space gets as there are fewercommercial areas.

So What: Places in a town are not placed there randomly or buy chance.

Now What: This helps residents live in a town comfortably and conveniently.

So What: BPT is full of nature so that people will be able to enjoy the calming and tranquil greenery which helps an individuals mental and physical wellbeing and enhances a persons sense of place by evoking positivity in them
