1- What major change do you see in the new generation makeup trend compared to back when you were our age?

Back when I was your age, we used to do heavy foundation, bold brows, contouring, and matte everything. Now, your generation prefers a more natural, minimal look. Gen z seem to prefer glowing skin, light makeup, letting their real features show. You focus more on skincare and self-expression, and honestly its better than what it used to be

2- Do you try to keep up with current trend of makeup or just do your makeup the same way you used to do before ?

I like to keep up with some of the current trends, but I still stick to what I know and feel good in. I might try a new product or technique here and there like cream blush or a skin tint but overall, I do my makeup the way I’m comfortable with. A little mix of old and new ones

Social media has helped people explore, share, and connect through makeup. Overall, it’s now more about feeling confident and being yourself.

Answer :

I think with Gen Z , makeup isn’t just about how you look, also about expressing who you are. A lot of us bond over makeup on TikTok or Instagram, whether it’s sharing tips, trying new trends, or just hyping each other up. It kind of creates this online community.
I think for older generations, makeup was more about looking presentable or professional, like for work or events, so it wasn’t really used as a way to connect with others in the same way we do now.

1) Makeup today feels much more creative than before. back then, most people followed the same beauty standards, but nowadays, people do what suits them.
2) Yes, makeup is more diverse nowadays. Brands offer a wider range of shades and represent different skin tones, genders, and cultures. so people have more options to choose from.

Makeup was not common as it is nowadays, people don't really put in mind that much to do makeup, except for special holidays, such as, Tet or weddings. If one does makeup, people'd be telling us that we're doing too much.
At that time, no one really talked about expressing personality through makeup. We just copied what we saw. If a famous singer like My Linh or a Hong Kong actress wore dark eyeliner or red lips, then we’d try to do the same. We didn’t have many options or information back then.
