Injustice- Act 3

In the crucible, hundreds of people, men and women are accused of being witches and casting spells of all kinds. However there was no legitimate proof or evidence of any kind to show that this was real. In one instance in the book a man raised his cane and waved to a man and the flames of a fire grew, (because someone threw sticks into it) after this the man was accused of witchcraft and executed. This song relates to the crucible because it talks about a modern day injustice. The writer of the song is trying to express that things should change in the future for the better and that our hopefully there will be more joy and happiness for their kids and later generations.

Reputation- Act 4

At the end of the crucible, when John Proctor is accused of witchcraft, he signs a paper that says he was guilty, then he takes the paper and tries to tear it. He yells at the prosecutors that he wants to die with dignity and with a mostly clean name. His reputation was very important to him. This song that I chose to connect with this scene and theme in the crucible relates to it because the writer wants to let their listeners know that reputation and how people see you is important.

Religion, in the crucible, plays a huge part in their community. All throughout the play you see how important their faith is to them in everyday life. It's a little odd though how they treat the people around them. This song is connected to religion and says the same thing the crucible says, that you should hold religion above all else. The words of this song show you just how powerful Gods wills is and how much he can influence life.

Jealousy- Act 1

In the crucible, Abigail Williams becomes very jealous that the man she loves is refusing to be with her, as well as defending and choosing his wife over her. This jealousy she has induces an anger that will eventually cause a lot of trouble for Proctor (the man she loves) and Elizabeth (his wife). This song is similar to the situation in the crucible because it talks about being jealous that the man you want, wants someone else.
