However there was no legitimate proof or evidence of any kind to show that this was real. In one instance in the book a man raised his cane and waved to a man and the flames of a fire grew, (because someone threw sticks into it) after this the man was accused of witchcraft and executed. This song relates to the crucible because it talks about a modern day injustice. He yells at the prosecutors that he wants to die with dignity and with a mostly clean name. His reputation was very important to him. All throughout the play you see how important their faith is to them in everyday life. It's a little odd though how they treat the people around them. This song is connected to religion and says the same thing the crucible says, that you should hold religion above all else. This jealousy she has induces an anger that will eventually cause a lot of trouble for Proctor (the man she loves) and Elizabeth (his wife).
