Task 3&5: Urban

This is one of the test shoots i would like to try and do when going out to do practise shoots. I would do this at the Underpass in Harlow i would also do this on the 23rd January. I would take this image using my D3200 and using the 18-55mm lens which would capture the whole angle. I would use 2-3 models which would possibly be my family as it would be the easiest to do and to plan.

Contextual awareness:

This image contains a small amount of space where the image is not fully used, this framing shows the main object in this image is to the side and not central. The possible aperture used would have been F5.6, the shutter speeds used would had been 1/1000.

This photograph was taken at an underpass in Harlow town centre, this image would have been taken to show life in Harlow. This image would have been taken during the day to use the lighting to create the gloomy effect, the image also contains to models which would have been used.

Task 3&5: Portraiture

I would like to also possibly try this in my practise shoots. I would use a model to create this image. I could recreate this image on a concrete wall with a model, i would place the model in the same place as this model is stood in this picture, i would do this on the 22nd January on a wall down my road which is Alsa Gardens in Elsenham, Essex. I would also use my Nikon D3200 for this photograph. My model would be my sister, I would make her look as if she was a chav, and make her stand out to make this image my own.

Contextual awareness:

In this image i can see a lot of space, as the object is to the side of the photograph. There is bright colour on the object so she stands out against the wall. From looking at this photograph i can tell that the camera aperture was on about F11, and the shutter speed was around 1/1000.

This photograph looks like it was taken in front of concrete wall, the image was taken to contradict its self to show how different people act towards pregnancy.

Task 3&5: Architecture

Doing an image like this would be easy for my practice shoots as places like this are all over Essex. I could do this in Harlow with the flats behind the college, i could do this on the 23rd January. I could take this using my Nikon by using my wide angle lens to create the wide effect. Taking this image i would need to think of the public as they may not want to be in my photo, i would make sure i would go on a quiet day when there is not many people around.

Contextual awareness:

In this image you can see a range of leading lines, which lead from either side of the image to the central of the image which is effective as it draws the viewers eye. The framing of this image is central as everything in the image is in correct places to achieve the lines. The aperture the photographer would of use could have been F11, the shutter speed used would have been1/500.

This image would have been taken in a typical Harlow town, the image would have been taken to show people an image of how harlow would look. The image would of had been taken during the day to achieve good lighting.

Task 3&5: Texture

In Harlow there is many places where i will be able to find texture for my images, which would make good practise shoots. I could use my garden fence to create this image, i would use my Nikon D3200 with my close up lens, i would do this 21st January.

Contextual awareness:

In this image it shows texture which helps engaged the person who's looking at the image. The image also shows a dark tone and a black and white colour. The aperture in this image would have been F8, the shutter speed would have been 1/250. Also the photographer must have used photoshop to create the black and white feature.

This image would have been taken of a wooden wall or fence which would give the texture effect. It would have possibly been taken in harlow. The image would have been taken to show how texture is portyaied around Harlow.

Task 3 & 5: Landscape

I would like to practise landscape as it is one of my main ideas for me chosen photo shoot. I could recreate this image where i live in Elsenham as it have my sign posts like this, i would do this on the 21st January. I would do this on my Nikon D3200 using my 18-55mm lens.

Contextual awareness:

In this image you can see a range of tone which is different shades without the image and it is very basic. The framing of this image is not central which makes it more approachable. It looks like the photographer used a aperture of F22, the shutter speed of around 1/1000. The photographer on this image looks as if they used photoshop to make the image black and white and to add more contrast.

This image would have been taking in the country side possibly near Harlow to show how signs can be different though out Harlow as they are less modern to other signs. This photograph shows a sign and tree with a landscape view.

Task 4:Landscape

Contexual awareness:

I took this image at Alsa woods, in Elesnham. I took this image to create my own of the image i had presivoulsy wrote about. I did this image on the 30th January 2016, the image shows a wooden sign, with a landscape behind the main object.

In this image it has a small amount of colour with the landscape, which contains natural colours, which helps the object to stand out from the background. The framing of this is that the object is slitty away from the centre of the image. Also the spacing in this image is large as there is nothing to fill the space behind the image.

The camera used in this image was a Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm lens with a wide angle lens on top. The shutter speed used was 1/500, the aperture used was F16. Within this image the only lighting used was natural light from the sun, even though it was a cloudily day which didn't give out much light.

Task 4: Texture

Contextual awareness:

I took this image with the same place i did my landscape at Alsa woods, Elsenham. I took this image on Saturday 30th January. I choose this as my best texture image as you can see the texture within the wood. I took this image to go with the image we looked at as they are both similar in the way that they both contain wood.

In this image you can see depth of field as some of the image is in focus and some is not which makes it effective and stands out more. This image also uses a lot of texture, which was my aim for this image, the texture is used within the bark on the tree branch i took the image of. This image also uses tone which gives a form and shape of the object, to make the image look for rough within the tone. The colours within this image are natural which contain green and brown colours.

The camera used was a Nikon D3200, with an 18-55m lens and a close up lens on top of my normal lens. The shutter speed used was F5,6, the aperture used was 1/125. I had used no photoshop techniques on this image to keep the original texture.

Task 4: Landscape

With this image i took at at Maldon creek in Essex. I had changed the image by using some photoshop techniques which included changing the brightness and saturation, i also changed the exposure which will make it stand out more. Changing the saturation helped the cloud stand out more as they where quite dark within the normal image. If i was to change the techniques used i could possibly try them into black and white. The shutter speed used was1/1000 and the aperture i used was F32.

Task 4: Texture

This image was took at Alsa woods, Elsenham which is in Essex. I had changed this image by adding a black and white mask, and by changing the saturation. With changing this it had made my image stand out more. The image shows texture within the tree. The shutter speed i used was 1/1000 and the aperture used was F4 so create the depth of field technique. If i was to do this image again i would maybe change the exposure swell or try and use other techniques i haven't used before.

Task 6&7:Photograms

This image is of a photogram, a photogram is a picture produced with photographic materials, such as light-sensitive paper, but without a camera. To create a photogram you need to get some solid images to create your image, you then need to make sure the lights are of before getting the light sensitive paper as if it is exposed to light it will not work when you try to create your photogram. Once you have your photographic paper place the objects on the paper then place a sheet of glass on top of them, before you do your final image do a test strip so you can calculate the time the timer needs to be on for your final image. Before you put your image in the chemicals use a thermometer to check the temperate of them. Once you have done either your test strip or final piece you place it into the developer tray for aout 2 minutes for you image to develop, once it has fully developed place it into the stop bath placing it into the stop bath stops the image from developing anymore as leaving it in then developer it will then make the image go darker and darker. Once you have place it into the stop bath for around 1 minute you then place it into the fixer, the fixer helps to protect the image and stop it from going brown as it gets older. Place it into the fixer for around 10minutes. After its been in the fixer place in a tray with running water which washes of all the chemicals of the image do this for 20minutes. After you can place your image in the print dryer or hang it up and wait for it to dry.

Task 6&7Darkroom printing

Dark room printing is when you use a old film (negative) to process and image, it uses the same structure as the photogram but instead you use a film which you place between the light and the lens which is also knowns as an enlarger. You use photographic paper meaning you need to have all the lights off with only the red safety light so the light sensitive paper does not react to the light and you can also see what you are doing.Once you have taken your test strip or final image you then place it into the developer for 2minutes so your image can develop and you can see what you can do to improve to or change the timer for your next image. Then you place it into the stop bath to stop your image from developing any further which could ruin your image. Leave in the stop bath for about 30seconds then place into the fixer to stop your image from getting ruined and will protect it as it gets older so it won't loose colour, leave this for about 5minutes. Once you have done this place it into the tray of running water to wash of the chemicals which can effect people with sensitive skin, leave it in this tray for 15minutes then your image is ready for drying. In the darkroom you can either dry your image using the print dryer or hang it up using a peg.

Task 6&7:Film Processing

Photographic process transforms the film image into a visible image, makes this permanent and renders it insensitive to light. Once taking your images wind the film back into its case before removing it from the camera as if the film sees light your images won't come out and the film will be ruined. To stop your images from getting ruined do the whole process i complete darkness in the dark room. Once you have opened up the film case thread it though the reel, make sure the whole film is threaded though the reel, once you have done this place the reel into the tank and place the inner core in the middle of the reel. Once you placed it into the tank put on the lid and twist it until clicks. Once you have done this you can turn the lights on and go and develop your film. You mix marathon which is the film developer with H2O water, A tank holds about 32onuces, so do half with marathon and half with water, once you have put both the marathon and water into a measuring jug check the temperature, the temperate of the solution determents how much time each film gets to develop, standard times are between 9 and a half seconds to 11seconds.
