You can volunteer at one of five inspiring schools: the Freie Waldorfschule Graz (holistic Waldorf education with strong artistic focus and Italian language), Projektschule Graz (creative, project-based primary school), Schule im Pfeifferhof (small reform-pedagogical school with Montessori elements), Sonnenhaus (Montessori-inspired school promoting independence and nonviolent communication), or Vulkanschule (Montessori & Jenaplan-based learning in a family-like atmosphere). As a volunteer, you’ll support teachers and bring your own cultural, creative, and social input through arts, sports, music, language, cooking, and more.

We are looking for open-minded, proactive, and communicative young people who like to work with children in different ages and with different social backgrounds and contribute actively to school life.

Volunteers become part of the daily work of the art centre, supporting project coordination, exhibition setup, editorial tasks, visitor service, and communication. Tasks range from organizing exhibitions and assisting artists to managing social media and helping with installations. The position is 30–35 hours per week (including occasional evening and weekend events). Both campaigns believe in saying YES to a society that focuses on the needs and wants of people and the planet, rather than unbridled growth and greed.

We are looking for two volunteers to join our team:

1. International Campaign & Partners: Focused on direct work with our Latin American partners through the “Right to Say No” campaign, helping environmental defenders from affected communities to share their stories and build international solidarity. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator fluent in English and Spanish (B2) with a deep interest in global justice and human rights, motivated to develop skills in advocacy, fundraising, and project coordination.

2. Local Campaign & Communication: Focused on the Stop#ExpresDefect campaign, asking for more sustainable local policies in Flanders, and supporting executive communication and content creation. This role is for a proactive person who loves inspiring others and working with volunteers, who has strong social media skills and can create visuals in Canva.

The Volunteer Role: Support both the work coaching team (organising workshops, visiting companies, attending school/social worker meetings) and the youth home team (assisting with daily routines, social skills, and outdoor activities). Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own ideas and introduce aspects of their culture.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Interest in youth education, social work, or psychology.

• Proactive and creative, willing to contribute new ideas (e.g., workshops, sports sessions).

• Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment, with basic German skills to engage in meetings and with youngsters.

• Enthusiastic about participating in outdoor activities and supporting personal growth for youths in need.

Duration: 9–12 months
