When are you able to have sexual intercourse when using the pill?

When you say “the pill”, I assume you mean the birth control pill. If this is the case, you shouldn’t have sex right away when the female starts taking the pill; wait at least a few days to let the pill start working. The female should be taking the pill every day for 3 weeks, then stop taking it during the fourth week to have her period, then repeat this cycle. It is safe to have intercourse anytime – the pill continues to prevent pregnancy even during the fourth week when she’s not taking it.

KEEP IN MIND, it is a very good idea to always use condoms even if the female is on the pill.

Here is info specifically about having intercourse during the fourth week when she’s not taking the pill:

https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/teens/ask-experts/is-it-safe-to-have-unprotected-sex-while-taking-the-inactive-pills-the-first-month-you-start-taking-birth-control-pills

Here is general info on the birth control pill:

https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control/birth-control-pill

If you have sexual intercourse while she is on the pill does she still need to take it after intercourse?

When you say “the pill” I’m not sure if you mean the birth control pill or the Plan B pill… if she is on the birth control pill, she should NOT take any Plan B pills. When using the birth control pill, it is safe to have intercourse at any time. BUT if she is not using the birth control pill, then she should take the Plan B pill within 24 hours after having unprotected intercourse.

Here is more info on the Plan B pill:

http://planb.ca/

Here is more info on the birth control pill:

https://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/birth-control/birth-control-pill
