My students viewed this performance and then did some writing. Suggestions 1) What happens? Did they "leave tonight?" or "die this way"? 2) Take a line and let it lead your thinking. Suggestions: "I had a feeling that I belonged" or "I had a feeling I could be someone" 3) Write about a time that you wished you had a "fast car" so you could "fly away".

First I teach students about observations versus inferences in photos, and let them practice writing both by using different photos. Then they write a list of describing words for various pictures. Then they choose a picture of their own to build a story! Very fun for Grade 6 writers.
