Of all the stories my Mom read to me, this one was by far my favorite! I was obsessed with the Teeny Tiny Woman as a child, specifically this version retold by Jane O'Connor and illustrated by R.W. Alley. I vividly remember being scared when the ghost came to get back his teeny tiny bone- "GIVE ME MY BONE!!!" he bellowed. When we would go visit my grandparents in Buffalo, my Mom would make up new stories about the Teeny Tiny Woman. I feel safe when I think of this story.

These books got me into reading. They fed my imagination. I recently got a job at a middle school library. I want to turn the library into the wizarding world for a reading initiative. I think I can get a lot more kids interested in reading with these books.

This book is a diary from a girl that was badly bullied and suffering from mental illness. I read the book in just a couple days. The book was extremely impactful and my heart broke for poor Alice. This book discusses how cruel girls can be to each other- which is why I think it should be required reading. I was in high school and worked at a tanning salon when I was reading this book. When I read the last chapter I was at work. I sat behind the counter of the tanning salon and wept. This book was so emotional for me. To me it represents the power a book can have on developing and exposing empathy.
