A British-American Loyalist expedition led by Colonel Andrew Deveaux, recaptured the islands in 1783. 

  Most of the current inhabitants in the islands are brought from the slaves brought to work on the Loyalist plantations.   Many Bahamas people enjoy learning about war and history.

The first inhabitants of the islands now known as The Bahamas were the Lucayans, an Arawakan-speaking Taino people, who arrived between about 500 and 800 from the islands of the Caribbean. Their ancestors came from mainland South America, where Arawakan-language peoples were present in most territories, and especially along the northeastern coast.

There is also a huge variety of birds.  sea life around the Bahamas and Out Islands includes frogfish, angelfish, Manatees, sharks, dolphins, sea turtles, bonefish, stingrays, blind cave fish, colourful reef fish, spotted eagle rays, sea turtles, dolphins, grouper, snapper,  and  conch.

The Bahamas exports lobster and some fish but do not raise the different items for each, commercially.  One place many people visit to go fishing is called ragged island. Ragged island is where there are many fish people find as the best tasting ones, they are barracuda, flyfish, tuna, and margaret fish. Many of these types of fish don’t take long to hook onto your rod.

The government says that people should end up using quite a high budget to afford a house that is well built and protective.  Their most common language is english, but there are many different cultures.

The religious denominations in the Bahamas include  Anglican, Assembly of God, Baha'i Faith, Baptist, Brethren, Christian & Missionary Alliance, Christian Science, Church of God of Prophecy, Greek Orthodox, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jewish, and Latter Day Saints.  For many bahamas schools, religion is considered part of the education. Many students decide to not study or review that subject, many religiousness is in assessments and tests.

More than 16,000 people attend those private schools while some public schools are overcrowded. The island has an Education Act that was revised in 1996 and is under control of the Prime Minister. As of 1996, the Education Act states that education is free for children between the ages of 5 and 16. Several non-Bahamian colleges also offer higher education programs in The Bahamas.

In elbow cay tourists can fish and visit the reef and the light house.

The other part of the cabinet is made up the prime minister and 9 other members.
