A leader acts as a role model for the followers he/she has gained. They act in a way that inspires others and lets them know that they have a responsible figure who they can rely on.

They do not shy away from differing/conflicting ideologies because they realize that understanding these are key in understanding the individual, allowing for the leader to adapt their leadership approaches to best fit their personalities.
A leader acts like they know what they are talking about in order to maintain mutual respect and order. They must act confident as their attitude reflects back onto the team. Finally, leaders should be able to control the situation. Leaders, do not need to be authoritarian, but even laissez-faire leaders should maintain order once in a while from their followers.
