My journey off early at 6 in the morning as soon as the sun began to set. I am ready to head west along the Silk Road and get to trading. There are a bunch of places that I shall go but who knows the way the wind will blow. The main goal is to become the most fluent trader the silk road has ever seen. Along with this will come wealth, all though it is not about the wealth, therefor the more money I obtain the stronger trades I can make. One difficulty I might face will be finding what places want to trade for and what they are willing to trade me. Another difficulty I might face is maintaining food and water because we will be traveling for a long time and I don't want to get stranded and die of starvation or dehydration. What a beautiful oasis, but there is no time for games I have traveled over 1000 miles and we are here strictly for business. This spot is one of many on my journey to become the most efficient trader along the Silk Road. The goal is to trade some spices that I have for some jade or wool because those are two things Dunhuang obtained. Although, one night I was just sitting in the bar and there were three people sitting next to me a few seats down. These guys were talking about these different beliefs that they have. One guy was talking about his belief in Buddhism, another was talking about Hinduism, and the last guy was talking about Confucianism. I gathered my thoughts and began to wonder why there are so many different religions along the Silk Road. I came to a conclusion that there are a lot of people from all over the place on the Silk Road. There has to be someone to go the goods that are needed. Sometimes the best way to do that is to go directly to the source and that's what all of these people are doing. This is the heat of the Gobi Desert. I have heard that its hot but I didn't know it was this hot. Also, people say that travelers going through the Gobi Desert are known to faint and are left behind by the caravan. To keep myself alert and to make sure this doesn't happen I decided to right in my journal. "The rumors are true it is unbearably hot in the Gobi Desert and it doesn't get any cooler. This is truly a hike not for the weak, there are miles and miles of sand dunes to as far as the eye can see. After that long, hot fight through the Gobi desert I have made to the city of Marakanda. I must say it is a very big place lots of buildings and there is a big wall surrounding us. The plan is to get a goods nice rest, allowing me to get my energy back so that I will be ready to trade first thing in the morning. I will be spending my time looking to trade jade and or wool for some silk and or wine. Also, I will be spending some time preparing for a long trip ahead, I will need food and water because when we leave here we will be heading to Antioch. This is on the western part of the Silk Road. Lastly, for the rest of my trip I will be expecting to head through two cities those being Bactra and Palmyra. I ran into a lot of people trying to sell/bargain things to try and get my money along the way. The feeling of finally being here is such a great feeling I feel so accomplished. I have came across many trades such as spices into jade and wool then jade and wool for silk and wine and many more. Now all there is left to do is look back and see what I have overcome but most importantly learn from this experience because there are very few people that have completed the journey I just did. Reviewing my ledger I can see some things that I encountered, one was in the bar at Dunhuang I learned how there are many different religions along the Silk Road. Another thing I overcame according to my ledger was when we were fighting to get through the Gobi Desert I was writing to myself on just my surrounding and just what was going through my mind to keep me focused. "Dear journal: This journey has turned out exactly how I had hoped, I traded many great goods and resources and saw some pretty sites. It was 100% worth all of the pain and sweat it took to get here. The return journey will be another challenge but it is nothing I am not ready for, I have already completed my tasks and fulfilled my dreams.
