ethnocentrism basically means that other cultures have preconceptions of standards and customs of there own culture. It is important to be aware of these views when researching because writing is very one sided when the author of it has there own views so when reading these types of articles you have to step back and ask yourself if this article is really what you need to be researching on or is there other ones that would benefit you more.

I realized that what they were talking about sounded familiar and then realized that spelled tsitned backward is dentist and then everything came together. I think the author is trying to show us how ridiculous we can act and think of ourselves. The only way he could do that however, is to make us believe that there are nacirema people living among us. He wants us to realize that if we think the same "rituals" are bad when other people do it then how do we feel when we do it.

It made the story that much believable.

I didn't discover that it was a joke until Ms. VJ pointed it out. Some students were acting like they knew some people that were described which made everyone think that it had to be true. Some of the vocabulary in the article was confusing, but when I looked back in the text, it was obvious to me that the author was describing Americans. I think that the author was trying to show that information can be presented in different forms, but have the same idea at the same time.

The author used a bit of a dehumanization tactic in order to make readers think how odd and vulgar the tribe was. They also used strong and advanced vocabulary to make it even more realistic and official. While it was slightly humorous when we all realized that we had been hoaxed, fake news can be an extremely dangerous way to set people off. In a society like ours built on communication and relationships, rumors and gossip can go a long way. If a person wrote an article about something sensitive, and if they were to make it realistic enough, it would set off the media and the society into chaos.

Reporting fake news is good for the people who are reading it because it gives you a perspective of how to not make the same mistake again. But reporting fake news isn't reliable to the ones looking for a good article with good text evidence. It is good sometimes for if you don want people to hear what really happened in a natural disaster, like how many people died or how many buildings were torn down. Then if you wrote a fake article on this it would be better for the people reading it not to know the full truth.

In this article, the writer seemed to get the reader to envision everything about how the Naciremas acted, and how they felt about others. The author also gave small descriptions, based on how the human body is without this type ritual, one being described as 'ugly'. Personally, I think the author used a persuasive strategy when writing the article. They wanted to win over the readers, so they believe that every bit of this process is clear and true. Also, I personally would not write publishable hoaxes/fake news because everything would be insincere. It would be better in my opinion to display logical and factual information that teach the reader about a true topic.

The made the story seem very unhuman and made the reader really think thee odd people were living among us, when the writer was just talking about us the whole time. This was how the author made this story seem "believeable". I would like to write hoaxes because it would be fun to trick people into one thing when the writer is actually talking about something different.
