There are so many of them you can talk about or are interested in that you wonder: "What do I do now?"

You start imagining the day when your thesis gets awarded, or that professor who never believed in you will come up to you and say: "I was wrong. Your thesis is the best I have ever read!"

Dreaming is great, seriously. I also tend to imagine pleasant situations to make my days brighter. However, it is time for you to wake up and decide what you will talk and write about during the following months (or maybe days if you do it with a lot of dedication or wake up too late).

To that end, here are some tips for you on how to pick the best possible thesis topic:

1. The first thing you should do is think of a topic that you like or are passionate about. Maybe you have read or heard it many times because it is the best advice for you to enjoy the moments in which you are developing your thesis. There is no great result without passion.

2. Unless you are studying for a PhD, your thesis topic should not be too pretentious; try to make it as simple as possible. It will make it easier to understand and simplify the writing process without any essay writing service involved. The ideal topic of your choice should suit both your interests and current researching skills.

3. Choose a topic you have written or on which you have some knowledge or skill. Remember that it is tough to write long texts on a topic that you do not know. The search for information and the understanding of the topics will take longer, and therefore the thesis will take longer to finish. Besides, you may make more mistakes than if you work on a topic you master, even if it is only very slight.

4. Although you may think that the first thing to do is write a research proposal on a topic you feel is good, without checking its current state or amount of conducted research, this is not the right thing. One of the essential steps in selecting the topic is to check if there is any data available in books, journals, databases, websites, organizations, experts, etc., on the subject. Several thesis students have had to leave their research halfway through because they cannot find any information after a certain period.

5. Establish clear limits for your topic. Although there are topics whose scope of the study can be extended to infinity, you must establish a reasonable research scope, both in the study's time and space and in developing contents within the final thesis document.

6. If a topic catches your attention just because it is a current trend, but you do not have the slightest idea what it is about, it is better to study a classic that you know. Your thesis's approval does not depend on how current or recognized the topic is but on the researcher's ability to develop it in the best way possible. 

At this point, you may say: "I've done all the above, but I still can't find a good topic." It happens! So here is a list of ways in which you can find a suitable topic:

1. Read a lot. Hasn't it happened to you that you didn't know a specific issue existed before? Still, once you read a small article or other text, you are inexplicably interested in it. You are curious to know more or discover how good you are at understanding and talking about this topic. There might be a solution to your problem.   

2. Internships are always a source of knowledge and experience. How about doing a thesis applied to the place where you did your internship? Or how about if that place leads you to discover a social, economic, political, or natural problem that you can write about and propose a solution strategy in your thesis?   

3. Your university can become an endless source of topics to research. Your classmates, a professor, research groups, student events, etc., can be the best source of inspiration to find your object of study. In them, you can find a topic that fills your expectations and encourages you to study it. 

4. Don't leave your everyday personal experience aside. Many events in our daily lives may be helpful: from your daily chats with your family to any academic or personal experience you might have experienced.

In case you already have a topic, but after a few days realize you don't like it at all or bored to work on the thesis just thinking about researching it, it is better to stop for a moment, discard that topic and find one that suits you in the best way. Remember that it will be with you for many days. Also, you should ensure that you have research on which ideas satisfactorily come to you, that your creativity flows and that writing the thesis is always a pleasant moment.  

Finally, keep in mind the tips we mentioned. Remember that the most important thing is to finish it quickly and with quality to close this undergraduate student stage and continue with your life project.
