We were always doing experiments and collecting data. It was fun to do hands on learning. My favorite thing we did was we had classroom caterpillars and we watched them turn into butterflies it was so exciting to the whole class to observe this process. It was a lot more math based as well as creating things instead of observing the world around us. I think my attitude changed as I continued to high school just because I was not very good at math and the science I was learning consisted of that. We learned about discovery and how it is super important in science. Creating that mindset of being curious and exploring for our students is important. Without curiosity we would not have answers to what goes on in the world around us. Everyday in the science world answers are being discovered about the "unknown". Allowing students to be curious and explore will help them in the long run. I think that by giving students the chance to explore they will create an understanding of the world around them and how it works. Students will be able to pursue new interests, make informed decisions, and create an understanding of new concepts. I also believe by learning about the 5E's lesson plan style, it will give students a more beneficial lesson.
