This hub offers Rushmoor residents free unlimited access to a range of interactive courses. <br><br></strong>Residents can choose either 60-minute webinars or 20 minute ‘micro’ sessions to fit in with their schedules.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Peter Edmonds, the RVS Social Inclusion Officer, is always on the look out for some new befriender volunteers as demand is very high for this service. Please spread the word amongst your friends in case anyone can spare an hour or two a week. We are looking for friendly people who would like to make a difference to someone's life in Rushmoor.          <title>Thrive Together: Bhangra Dancing</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It was great seeing our responders amongst the Bhangra dancers in the Victoria Day parade. They attended four workshops run by Nutkhut (a leading community carnival arts organisation) to learn all the moves. On the day of the parade Nutkhut provided beautiful costumes for everyone to wear. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves and it looks like they may be asked to dance at more community events in the future!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>We're recruiting!!</strong> Join the RVS team as a Health Walk Development Officer (part-time).</div><div>Following a successful bid to Public Health England, we have been commissioned to offer Health Walks for Rushmoor Residents with an initial fixed term contract to 30th April 2025. The Development Officer will set up the programme, recruit volunteers and establish safe walks in the district.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Barnardo's are still short of volunteers for their local walks for new parents!</strong><br><br>Are you a friendly and welcoming person who is interested in supporting young families? Do you enjoy walking and being outside? Then this rewarding role with Barnardo's could be for you!<strong><br></strong><br></div><div>This regular volunteering opportunity involves supporting the Ready Steady Mums Rushmoor group on a Tuesday in Farnborough <strong>OR</strong> on a Thursday in Aldershot.<br><br>These are free, fun and informal social walking groups for new parents to give them the chance to meet other local families as well as the motivation to get out in the fresh air and get fit. Your role would be to chat to parents and make everyone feel welcome during the walk.<br><br>The walks are organised by Hampshire Healthy Families which is a partnership between Southern Health Foundation Trust (NHS) and Barnardo’s.          <title>Volunteers Needed! Picnic and Pop, Aldershot - weekend of 29th &amp; 30th July</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Aldershot Picnic and Pop is a two-day family festival with&nbsp; live music across two stages by some of the UK’s top tribute acts as well as the best local bands. </strong><br><br>Alongside the music there are also some great children’s activities, fun fair, bar and a variety of street food vendors.&nbsp;<br><br>This year's Picnic and Pop festival on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July have a range of volunteer roles including stewarding, litter picking, photography and videography.</div><div><br></div><div>You are not expected to work the whole day, but as a minimum be able to volunteer one of the shifts that include early morning, morning, afternoon or evening each day.<br><br></div><div>The success of the event relies on many people, especially like-minded people who want to do something for their community.<br><br></div><div><strong>What do you get?</strong></div><ul><li>Free entrance to the festival for the weekend</li><li>Free refreshments whilst on shift</li></ul><div><br></div><div>If you are interested, please fill in the form: <a href="https://www.picnicandpop.co.uk/get-involved/become-a-volunteer/">Become A Volunteer - Picnic and Pop, Aldershot, Hampshire</a><br><br>Please let Nicola know if you volunteer so that she can update your responder volunteering record.          <title>Directory Detectives Needed (short-term role)</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Rushmoor Voluntary Services are looking for 3 Directory Detectives to help with the development of a new Rushmoor directory of community organisations, activities and services. This directory will be available to members of the public who will be able to search for information using categories and key words. To see an example of what the final directory will look like, please see <strong>Here for Hart's directory</strong> here: https://www.hereforhartdirectory.org.uk/&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The main purpose of the Directory Detectives will be to research information for the different directory categories and then to add this information to our database ready for it to be transferred to the directory.&nbsp;<br><br>This short term opportunity starts asap and will be a few hours per week until the end of September. It is ideal for someone who loves research, has a good eye for detail, competent IT skills and has an interest in our local community.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Thrive Together will be re-commencing in the autumn so watch this space! As you can see from the photos, our Responders and Volunteers have tried all sorts of things from ZenTangle to meditation to ukulele. We have also run several first aid courses throughout the year. New ideas for the autumn include a well-being walk at Wellesley Woodlands and a Nepali language and culture workshop.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Thank you to all those who helped at Victoria Day on 10th June,</strong> it was much appreciated by Jenny Atherton, the Events and Cultural Projects Manager at RBC<strong>.</strong> Pictured here are Sue and Veronica having a lovely time in the sunshine during their volunteering stint.<strong><br><br></strong>It was a fantastic, action-packed day with<strong> </strong>its theme of 'Circus' and included the carnival parade, circus skills, family activities, the classic car show, live music &amp; dance performances… and much more!&nbsp;We're already looking forward to next year!</div>]]></description>
