Whether it's greed, envy, or maybe someone acting on hate. Sometimes a situation we are in can bring out that "beast". For Jack it was easiest to bring out that evil because he was already somewhat of a bully before they can to the island. The island only enhanced those qualities making him wild and violent. The evil hasn't captured Ralph and Piggy as greatly as Jack but it is still there. For Piggy its he wants things to get done, as per Ralph's instructions, but isn't fully willing to help with those things. For Ralph its that he wants the others to know he is chief. In Lord of the Flies, the Beast inside the boys gets stronger as the story goes along, and they get more savage and start embracing their darker qualities. Jack, for example, is a bully by the start of the book, but he becomes worse and starts getting more violent and arrogant. He embraces the savagery. Piggy's beast is his greed, he wants to get off the island, and have food and shelter, but he doesn't want to help. Ralphs beast is his pride. He wants the other boys to like him and obey him as Chief, and he will do dangerous things to prove that he deserves to be chief. As we have seen, Jack was definitely the first to embrace this savagery, as he even stuck the head of this pig on a spear as an offering towards the beast, almost like he is trying to ally with it. The beast in Piggy really hasn't come out yet, as he is very rational and intelligent, but his intelligence could symbolize his savagery. Ralph's inner beast is probably his confidence, as he doesn't back down to anybody, and remains a leader. In chapter 8, the conversation between Simon and the Lord of the Flies reveals the true nature of the beast that has been haunting the boys. Contrary to their belief that the beast is an external creature they can hunt and kill, the Lord of the Flies tells Simon that the evil exists within each of them. This evil manifests differently in Jack, Piggy, and Ralph, reflecting the darker aspects of human nature.

The evil within Jack is manifested through his growing savagery, obsession with hunting, and his desire for power and control. As the story progresses, he becomes more brutal and ruthless, eventually leading a group of boys into violence and chaos. Piggy, on the other hand, represents a different kind of evil, one rooted in the limitations of rational thinking and a certain degree of emotional detachment. While he often provides valuable insights and serves as a voice of reason, his inability to fully connect with others on an emotional level can be seen as a flaw. Ralph's evil is subtler, as he represents a more balanced and well-intentioned character. However, his struggle to maintain order and his occasional moments of doubt and frustration reveal that even the most seemingly virtuous characters have their inner demons.

In conclusion, the evil that the Lord of the Flies speaks of is not an external monster that the boys can hunt and kill, but rather the inherent darkness that exists within each of them. This darkness, manifesting in different ways through Jack, Piggy, and Ralph, serves as a reminder of the potential for evil that resides within all people, and the importance of recognizing and combating these darker aspects of our nature.

The Lord of the Flies is the darker side of people, whether it is from a lack of logic, or anger, or even a lack of sympathy for the other kids, it often causes pain for people, and leads to conflict. Each of their follies are different, and the Lord of the Flies is simply a representation of those flaws, created by the kids trapped on the island, because of fear, and faith. Both of which themselves are often folly. You can look at anyone and find a piece of evil in them. No one's perfect and people make mistakes. In others it's more it less obvious. For example, jack's evil is more obvious than Ralphs. Jack has always bullied piggy and the other boys. He's more violent and thinks he's the top dog. Ralph however hides the evil. He's had his moments of questionable behavior. Especially Jack when jack suggested killing a littlun in chapter 7 comes to a grotesque fruition in chapter 8 during the vicious and bloody hunt following Jack's rise to power and formation of his new tribe. Jack's accent arises directly from the supposed confirmation of the beast's existence. Ralph is trying to just keep everybody safe, and piggy is the smart one.

The evil in Ralph is also the need to be respected but also the feeling that he needs to be the one in control.
