They have their writing organized into separate paragraphs. They restate their claim at the end. They have strong convention skills.

However, I did not think that this would be a level 4 example, solely because the student doesn't directly quote from the source. This is a big skill I have been trying to get across to my students, as they often paraphrase what the text is saying, rather than include direct quotes, then explain in their reasoning. I see that in the standards for their writing, W.6.8 says, "and quote or paraphrase the data and conclusions of others while avoiding plagiarism and providing basic bibliographic information for sources." I did not see the student cite which sources they pulled evidence from, and nothing is in quotation marks.
