Ready Player One is a creative take on the Dystopian genre. The protagonist, Wade Watts lives in a world devastated by "pointless wars", over-population, and a lack of power and space. To escape this hellish reality, he, and the rest of humanity, log into a simulation where they experience anything they can dream of. However, it isn't just a game anymore, as the simulation's creator hides his endless wealth in the game as the reward of the biggest contest the world has ever seen. I enjoyed the book, and its intense action that spanned between reality, and virtual reality.

Ready Player One is a fantasy tale with a unique twist on a dystopian society in the future. The world no longer functions on face-to-face contact, but instead entirely on an online lifelike simulator in a digital world filled with technology and magic, you follow the unlikely protagonist Wade Watts through a series of vintage video games and movies in his quest to discover the easter egg left in the game from the game's creator.

It delves into the codes, messages written in invisible ink, moles and double agents, and information battles that lead the revolutionaries to victory. I thought that the book was very informative and shed light on a subject I did not know about.

The Right Stuff profiles the early days of the American Space Program, following the early testing of rocket powered aircraft, and then onto the early Mercury space missions, focusing on what drove the test pilots selected to attempt such dangerous and daring missions. As a pilot myself, I enjoyed reading about the early days of aviation and space, and how similar they still are to this day.
