         <description><![CDATA[<div>We believe that 4Music would be the most effective music channel to exhibit our promo video. This is because it is a popular music channel and is typically known to exhibit music of a range of genres, for example pop, hip-hop and indie. 4Music is a Channel 4 branded music channel. As Channel 4 has a wide range of subsidiaries (e.g. E4. Film4, Kerrang!), we are able to target a mass audience, as individuals who are interested in other Channel 4 brands may potentially wish to check out the happenings of 4Music. 4Music are known to adhere to a younger audience of teenagers to mid-20s, particularly females. This is represented through the activities they take part in as a company, e.g. music festivals, and the TV shows they often exhibit on their channel, e.g. Keeping up with the Kardashians. Younger females are more likely to attend and enjoy music festivals, and watch programmes such as these. This music channel is also something that a group of females will stereotypically have on in the background whilst socialising, and spending time together. The channel is easily accessed, as it is available on Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media – the three main television broadcasters. This targets a mass audience as the majority of them will be able to easily access this channel. This music channel will also be effective due to the fact that they place emphasis on the Official UK Top 40. Within these charts is where individuals are made aware of an artist and their music. By exhibiting our music promo on this channel, the song could potentially enter this official chart, proliferating our audience. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Magazine Advert</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One magazine that we would publish our advert is NME (New Music Express), a British music journalism magazine. The name of the magazine in itself signifies the emphasis that this magazine places on new music, therefore we believe it would be an effective place to exhibit our magazine advert. This magazine would increase the number of indie music listeners in our audience. This is because the magazine consistently includes articles on indie artists, such as Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. By portraying our magazine advert in a magazine that also presents artists as successful as they are, represents to our audience the talent of the artist, encouraging them to want to listen to the EP. While the exhibition of our music video attracts a younger female audience, the exhibition of our magazine advert appeals to an older male audience. This is because they are more likely to continuously use traditional media. Males are stereotypically more likely to read music magazines or sports magazines, while females are more likely to read entertainment, or reality TV news magazines. This is effective as we are aiming these products at a mass audience, of all ages and both genders. </div><div>Another magazine that we would publish our advert in is Q, a popular music magazine published monthly in the UK. This is because it is a widespread magazine that includes articles on artists of all genres, also the indie pop genre, e.g. Florence and the Machine. This is effective because we are not subjecting the artist to one particular audience, but an audience that listens to all music. Again, this helps obtain a mass audience, increasing the success of the artist. Reviews from these two magazines is present on our magazine advert, therefore when the audience notice this they are more likely to want to listen to the album, as it’s spoken highly about by reliable sources.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Our digipak would be promoted in HMV stores. HMV is an entertainment retailing company, stocking a range of products including books, Blu-ray discs, CDs, DVDs, video games, as well as an increasing range of movie, television and music merchandise. We believe this would be an effective place to promote our digipak, as it is extremely popular, with 125 stores across the UK. Also, the wide range of stock that the store wishes to promote caters for all audiences. This signifies that individuals of all ages and genders will enter this store. This store is known to display large images of the artist in the window once they’ve released new music, emphasising the significance of the artist and the name of the EP. If a large number of people are entering this store due to their masses of products, they are more likely to see these posters of our band Ivy &amp; Gold, and feel enticed to listen to their music. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Benefits of Television Exhibition</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A benefit of television exhibition is that the distribution of the product is immediate and repeatable. This means that the audience are easily targeted, as music channels will play music promos instantaneously after their release, and the audience are able to watch them as many times as they like (if they have the ability to rewind and record).  Another is that it has high mass audience coverage, as television is prestige and watched by a large number of people. Moreover, because of this high audience coverage, Television has a high impact – meaning that individuals watching it are affected by what they see. This is an effective feature of television exhibition for us as a group because we want an audience to be positively affected and surprised by our music promo. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>However, there are also drawbacks of television exhibition. For example, there are high costs for airtime. This means that an artist may spend a significant amount of money in order to put themselves out there, despite the fact that they are unsure whether they’ll truly be seen. This links to the next drawback that channels are switched frequently. If the watcher isn’t interested in what they see immediately, then they are more than likely to switch the channel, especially when it comes to music. Therefore, it is important for an artist to make every aspect of their music promo captivating, in order to entice the audience. We aimed to incorporate this essential attribute into our music promo, by revealing different features of the narrative progressively, as the video advances. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Benefits of Magazine Advertising</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There are a range of benefits for magazine advertising. One of these benefits is that magazines have a long shelf life, and have high readership rates (particularly pass-along readership rates). This is the idea that once magazines are released, they will stay on the store shelves until the next edition is published, which can often be longer than a month. This is effective because the promotion of our band Ivy &amp; Gold will be consistent over a long period of time. While magazines have high readership rates because older audiences are more likely to read them, it is also effective that they have high pass-along readership rates. This is when the audience are passing along an area where these magazines are sold, and are captivated by what they see. Therefore, they skim read the magazine before leaving. This will lead to an increase of an audience because we aimed to create an engaging poster that will attract the eyes of our target audience. When they’re passing along they may notice this, and use new media to further research the artist. </div>]]></description>
