We believe Andrew Jackson was a popular President and canidate because he had helpd out the U.S back when the "War of 1812" was going on. He had made victory after victory when this war was going on and we think that people felt if he succeded when one of the hardest events in U.S history occured, that he could change the country for the better. Also many people didn't just see him from that aspect but he also was "a man of the people" That is why we believe that Andrew Jackson was very popular in his time era.

I think Andrew Jakson was a very faddish president because most Americans already knew of him. He accomplished many military victories in the War of 1812 and was known as the "Hero of New Orleans" and "Old Hicory" for his toughness. Even though he was a slave owner as well as a landowner many saw him as almost like a representative for the people. Also, because of his past, small farmers and others who felt left out of the already growing economic government praised him.

Also Andrew Jackson was known for his victories & hard work. He was called "Old Hickorey" because

he was as strong as hickorey. Lastly he owned slaves and was raised by unwealthy parents so he knew

how the citizens would react to a president supporting only one class.

In the end Jackson won the popular vote but no canidate won the majority so the House of Reprentatives had to choose the President. Jackson was not choosen.
