To turn a fraction into a decimal you first have to divide the numerator by the denominator. For example if you wanted to turn 1/2 into a decimal you would do 1 divided by 2. If you use the long division way and the denominator can't go into the numerator than you annex the numerator and keep seeing how many times the denominator goes into that number. For example, since two can't go into one you have to annex the one and put a decimal where you would write your answer (after the denominator as itself) . Two goes into ten five times so you would put 5 after the decimal and get .5 as your answer. Therefore 1/2 as a decimal is .5. If the digit(s) keep(s) repeating than you put a line over them which indicates that it keeps repeating.
