         <description><![CDATA[<p>Students will start thinking about how their work will be presented, how big their space is, is work going to be framed etc&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Students will understand how to work out the max size their images can be printed – understanding the limitations of resolution &amp; resampling.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>They will understand how to resize and crop their images to a specific size.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>They will understand the problems of image W&amp;H ratios and these can differ, and the solutions of using a canvas, keeping one border the same etc&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Students will understand how viewing distance relates to print size&nbsp;and what is meant by close viewing distance.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Students will have an awareness of the options of printing on different paper stocks, and other printing options, such as digital C-type.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Students will understand how to sharpen images for print and how to selectively sharpen areas of the image.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Understand the basics of colour management, in relation to using calibrated screens and print profiles. Awareness of the transition between screen and print – especially in areas of dark tone.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Know how to use colour balance, curves and hue/saturation adjustments in PS&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Students will understand the importance of getting colour correct in the raw processing or scanning stage of their workflows, and be able to do this effectively.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Understand the importance of using test strips to judge colour, resolution, sharpness, consistency etc.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Understand how to use Photoshop to increase mid-tone contrast and how to burn in white edges using output levels.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>How to handle large prints, use the guillotine and heat press.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>]]></description>
