Description – what happened?

-          Me and my group have been working on a marketing consultancy project for Private White VC. We have put together a marketing strategy for the brand on how they can grow a large consumer base within the UK. We planned out our strategy and then divided out the tasks which need to be done to each member of the group, depending on strengths/weaknesses, to make sure we can complete the task given to us to an excellent standard.

Feelings – What was I thinking and feeling?

-          At the beginning of the project, I was sceptical of group work, however, I have enjoyed working with others on thee task and getting to see others ideas and different takes on the brief.

-          I liked the live briefs and being able to think of a completely new marketing idea for the brand, which allowed me and my group to have creative freedom.

-          I was excited to work in a group as I knew it would help mw with my communication and team working skills.

-          I feel as though I have imputed my own ideas as well as listening well to others and coming to a collaborative marketing idea for the brand.

Evaluation – What was good and bad about the experience?

-          Our group worked well when we were thinking of campaign ideas. We all had great ideas so we came to a group decision on which idea we wanted to choose and we agreed we were all happy with this.

-          We were able to identify our own personal strengths and weaknesses to ensure we were all doing tasks we were comfortable with.

-          Communication wasn’t our strongest point as I feel as though the group didn’t speak much outside of university so towards the end of the work, I was just completing the work we all decided on at the start of the project.

-          However we did work well as a team on the times we did meet up to work and discuss the project. Everyone in the group were good listeners and team players.

Analysis/conclusion/Action plan  – What else can I make of the situation?

-           I feel as though we completed the task well and covered all points we needed to do, to create a great piece of work.

-          I have gained team working and communication skills I will be able to take into the workplace after university.

-          Net time, I would encourage the group to meet up more times than what we did, just to ensure everyone was always on the same page and competing the work we all needed to. This would’ve resulted in an easier journey and created less stress/panic towards the deadline.
