So everything that I listened to and read was new information for me. Two things that I really love about the Reggio-Inspired approach is the idea that the students really are the leaders of the classroom, their teachers have so  much confidence and trust in them.  I love this because  here in America it feels like the teachers are almost always micro-managing for several reasons. I love how it is encouraged for families to bring their own hobbies and interests into the classroom! In one of the videos we watched in class a parent cooked with the class,  another parent wrote  and  directed an  entire play with the class! I  think that we should  really try incorporating more of  this into our own classrooms here in America. My children and I are always making huge messes and doing crafts and activities that a lot of teachers in the building avoid with their children due to the mess that follows. However, one thing that I do not usually do is let my children play with paint without it being contained in either a ziploc bag, or another container of some sort. Well, I've been trying to be more open-minded since taking this course. I let my infants sit at their highchairs and paint with their hands. Naturally they wanted to put it all in their mouths. Crayola paint isn't toxic, so I didn't necessarily stop them from putting their hands in their mouths, but I also did not encourage it.  I did explain that paint is not for eating, and I redirected them a lot to the papers. It was a very messy experience but one thing I noticed was how interested they were in this paint. Usually our crafts do not last very long, they get bored fast. However, this activity lasted quite some time.
