I was born on November 29th, 1996 in Istmina - Choco, Colombia.

I'm the youngest son of 7 males, and my mom told me that was the most difficult childbirth she had.

One of the happiest day of my life.

I can say that I was so happy when I travelled with my mom and brothers on vacation in 2006. We visited 2 cities that were Medellin and Armenia, so as we went to Tulua and Buga.

My Motorcycle Accident

In 2011, one of my brothers taugh me to ride my dad's motorcycle. I was so afraid of hitting something like another motorcycle or a car. I was riding when all of the sudden, I lost control and fell off the motorbike and hurt my elbows and knees. The motorbike got a lot of damage and my dad was really mad.

High School Graduation.

In 2014, I graduated from high school. It was amazing to see all my classmates and I wearing suits, being elegant for the event and receiving our diplomas. Our teachers and parents were proud of that new goal achieved by us as students.

We were all excited about the graduation party and enjoyed a lot. We danced all night.

Moved to Bogota

In 2015, I moved to Bogota to live with one of my older brothers. It was my first time traveling by airplane. I was so nervous about boarding, and arriving to El Dorado Airport.

My brother didn't pick me up at the airport and I had to take a taxi which charged me a too high fare because I was new in that big city.

Signed up for an English Course

Since I couldn't pass the exam to sign into the university, I felt drepessed and dissapointed. That's why I decided to attend an English course, and I think it was the best desicion I have made so far.

I used to study more than 8 hours a day.

A Sad Moment

In 2016, one of my brothers was murdered, I had to go back to Istmina for his funeral, my family was too affected.

Later that year, my mom told me there was no way to continue supporting me in the city, so I had to look for my first job which payment was not enough to make a living.

I struggled too much.

Moved back to Istmina

In 2017, I moved back to my parents' home, I started working as an English tutor in a private institute.

The payment was even less than what I earned in Bogota, but the cost of living was also more affordable. I enjoyed teaching, but I never felt appreciated.

I found a Great Opportunity

One day, my mom called me to say that someone was asking about me. It was one English teacher who had lived in the US.

His name is Henry and he offered me to start a new English course in a town called Tado close to Istmina. The course was a success, the students learned, and felt motivated.

The course lasted 5 months. All that took place in 2022 after the pandemic.

Cali, My new Destination

In 2023, Teacher Henry Cordoba advised me to sign up for the Foreign Languages Degree. I realized that I needed money and decided to move to Cali. I found a job in a bilingual contact center and could pay my first semester.

I also started a community of students to continue as a private tutor.
