Professional and Personal goals and objectives

During this time I attended three shoots days for social media content. This helped me gain knowledge in content creation and social media strategies. I took part in the filming of videos and even participated in a few, shown below.

On my first day in office, I got to attend a Hair by Sam Mcknight Master Class, where I learnt about the ingredients that went into the products created by the iconic hair stylist.

When in office, I spent time doing approvals for UGC videos. This meant I was using a platform that showed me any UGC videos involving SpaceNK and I would tag them and organise them into different sections. For example, making a folder of videos that could be used on their Instagram, website or for sponsored content. This helped me understand the types of content people created and what they were useful for. This also developed my organisation skills.

The office-based lifestyle gave me an insight into SpaceNk's work-life culture and introduced me to hundreds of contacts in the beauty industry. I attended meetings to strategise Christmas content and got to pitch ideas for marketing suggestions and themes. I also attended a monthly marketing meeting which allowed me to hear statistics and round-ups from the month. This was invaluable to me, as it showed real life results. I got to sit in meetings with the PR team and heard about upcoming shop openings and events and got to understand what went into planning them.

On my final day at SpaceNK, I was lucky enough to get invited to a SpaceNK X By Terry Event. I arrived early and helped with the set up of the event. Then created content that involved interviewing Terry de Gunzburg, filming new products and meeting beauty influencers. This was an amazing experience that gave me insight into the influencer community.

I also got the chance to edit a video that I filmed during a shoot day. This helped me understand the skills needed to work in social media and showed me the process behind uploading content. The video is shown below.

Video Editing

I worked in a team of up to 12 people a day. This helped me develop teamwork and problem solving skills.

I learnt basic health and safety training and worked with a cleaning schedule that helped keep me up to date with sanitising the play frames.

Part of this role was being a receptionist. This consisted of taking bookings and payments and helping people with knowledge about the play centre. This helped me develop strong communication and customer service skills. During my times on reception I dealt with a number of customers wanting to book parties, this consisted of me giving them a tour of the party rooms, giving them an in-depth description of our different party packages and answering all questions. This strengthened my sales skills and helped me uncover my love for sales and marketing.

During my time at Parents Paradise I also became fully cafe and barista trained. This taught me basic till skills and helped me build stronger relationships with our customer base. My barista training has given me many opportunities and is an amazing skill to have learnt.

I got promoted to supervisor when I was 17. This meant that my role was soley focused on ensuring the team was running smoothly and dealing with any customer complaints. The role also allowed me to take larger payments for party booking, sort refunds and open and close the centre. I thrived in the role as it developed my organisation and management skills.

The skills I have developed over the last 5 years have all been through self-determination and an interest in sales. I developed a huge part of my confidence through my first job at Parents Paradise, which helped strengthen my leadership skills and taught me many practical skills that are relevant in all workplaces.

When deciding on a course to take at college I developed a love for marketing due to seeing how brands connect with consumers on social media. This pushed me to choose a Marketing course instead of a business course, and that has helped me develop my skills in a specialised way.

I knew I wanted to go straight into work experience and did not initially look into degrees When I found out about the Fashion Retail Academy, I knew it was the perfect fit. The course allowed me to work part time and gave me opportunities to gain placements in the fashion marketing industry. Since starting then course, I have loved creating business reports, and planning for brands. I have developed skills in presenting, report-style writing and photoshop. These are interpersonal skills that I will eventually use in a workplace.

I know I have strong values when it comes to being transparent and love researching brands that do good alongside making products. I want to help businesses create happiness and honesty through their branding.

My experience in Supervisor roles has helped me to develop invaluable leadership and communication skills. I have a passion for the influencer industry and would like to be part of the improvement the toxicity behind ‘influencers’

I currently work in a female-owned, female-run business and that has taught me that there is no limit to the changed I can make in an industry. The empowerment and positive learning I receive daily, will be a key part in my career progression.

I would love to develop my interpersonal skills by travelling and experiencing different cultures. My main goal in life is to always put my happiness first, so whilst looking for a career, I analyse my personal values and feelings and look for a role that will motivate me to be the best version of myself.

My dream role would involve helping people to be the best version of themselves and promote that to others, though social media. I know there is a better use for social media and by using my creative and digital skills, I want to make a difference.
