The rising tension between China and Philippines for the several years has been increasing for these past months, and latestly on June 17, 2024 issued the act of aggression against Filipino forces, which resulted in Filipino troops to be injured, including a Navy service member who lost his thumb (according to Philstar Global). For too long, China had been intruding into our territory, on our waters, constructed ports, piling sand onto existing reefs, military installation, and airstrips, threatening our brave servicemen who protect our sea.

These actions endanger our natural resources, economy, and most importantly our national security. These belong to the Filipino people, a home to our marine life, fishing ground and rich in natural resources, which is significant to our economy and a key to sovereign future of the Philippines. The Philippine coast guard's bravery and courage in the face of Chinese harassment serves as our strength and strong will to rise up and defend our sovereign right and claim for our West Philippines Sea! It’s time for us to unite as one nation, strengthen our knowledge of our rights, advocate, support and honor the people who are risking their life to protect our territory. Let’s share this message and let them know that the West Philippine Sea will always be part of the Philippines!
