    • I think this is the most important phrase in Their Eyes Were Watching God because Tea Cake saw it as those who past accepted death peacefully and others who fought through the storm through everything. They past of courage and they died of a purpose to someone like Tea Cake. I also think this is the most important phrase because I think it’s a comparison with Janie and the hurricane. How Janie was looking for love in the right person, to seek her life with. The hurricane comes into place because the people that died searched for the same thing in life. For peace and someone that can recognize who they are.

It was mostly based on skin color and the Whites would always tear the Blacks down because of how successful they were. Janie seems more connected with her people and never looked back on who she was and where she comes from. Like when Tea Cake got caught up in being drafted in burying dead people underground, the Whites told him to only dump the Blacks, not the Whites. The Whites said this because the Blacks had money, and they don't want to spend a coffin or any more money on them again.     This is the most important quote in Their Eyes Were Watching God because this quote explains that love isn’t a fixed thing when you first find it. Love is a changeable thing and it comes in different shapes and sizes. It’s something that is different in the views of who experience them. This quote is saying that Janie's love isn't like the love other people have experienced. Her love was something special that brought her to light. Janie’s love for both Jody and Tea Cake was different and Janie didn’t feel that way she thought she felt towards Jody. She felt like Tea Cake finally came around to make her feel safe and sure that what she was feeling was real. Each love is different for each person you met and Janie found that within Tea Cake.

They conquered the world and Janie became the major's wife. All he ever wanted was money and power and simply died of hard work. Later on, she found her third husband Tea Cake, who gave her the love she's always wanted. They leave her hometown and go to the Everglades. They lived there life together until a powerful hurricane destroyed the land, leaving Tea Cake being bit by a mean dog. That same dog that made Janie kill him of how dangerous he was after. She went to jail for 3 hours, being innocent of everything, leaving to retell the story to her best friend Pheoby.     Consolation is the most important word because of the relationship Janie had with Tea Cake. He showed her how to love and how he gave her everything he possibly could. The times Janie would try to get away from being in Jody's shop, because of the neglect he had towards her. That time when Janie left Logan Killicks, to get with Tea Cake because Logan knows what kind of women she was after marring Janie. He did everything he could to keep a positive attitude, but that drew them more apart because of how Janie felt about him physically and emotionally. The attitude of how Jody made things right in his store, but not in there marriage. The other times when Janie would go under that palm tree and think about life and what's coming in the road ahead of her. Also those times when Janie finally recognized her different emotions towards both Jody Sparks and Tea Cakes. When Tea Cake finally died, she recapped the love she had towards him to her best friend Pheoby. She knew that Tea Cake would always be with her and now feels harmony in her heart.

There was no time in the book that explained that Tea Cake or Jody Sparks was jealous of some kind with Janie. On the other hand, Logan Killicks complained after hearing that Janie was going to run off with Tea Cakes. He thought she was a disgrace, how he gave her everything he could possibly could, and she took the things he did for granted. But Janie gets jealous of Nunkie because saw Tea Cake and Nunkie together a lot.
