I feel like teachers being armed isn't safe because a student can grab the gun, not knowing that it is armed and shoot the teachers or students. I think teachers should not be armed. I say this because we, as humans, cannot determine the mental state of an educator. For this reason, I think giving firearms or any type of weapon to teachers is incredibly irresponsible. By doing this, we could be endangering our students or anyone else present.

It's likely loss of life could have been reduced had he been armed. Preventing trained teachers from being able to defend their lives and their students has proven to be a bad idea. Allowing trained staff to be armed and carry concealed weapons on campus is the best short-term solution.
