I want to learn about how to work in a team effectively.
I'm worried about a big work load as I'm also doing CSSE2310 at the same time. I hope I can get a 5 or a 6 in this course. I expect this to be a good learning experience and a chance to work effectively in a team.

During this contact session, an Ice Breaker was done and helped me to learn about a few of my class mates. After the Ice Breaker activity (and walking in a circle), groups of approximately 6 were formed. After the group was formed, we were introduced to data.gov.au, where we then had a look at sets of data from the SLQ (State Library of Queensland). We were then asked to generate ideas as a group as to how each datasets can be turned in a website. Though the group was silent at first, we successfully got through with the exercise with a few interesting ideas.

The first exercise was focused around presenting the new or developed ideas from last week's exercises. We were split into groups of approximately 10, and were given 2 sticky notes each. However, only 1 of my ideas seemed to be suitable/up to standard for it to be put on the board. My idea was to use the data of library branches to create an interactive website showing information such as the locations of the branches (on a map), and more information will be shown when clicked on one of the branches (such as address, opening hours, link etc.).
Four groups/categories were created and each of the ideas/notes that were sticky were sorted into each of the groups. This was done to see what each idea can be categorized into and what kind of website can created from each of those ideas. The class then went around to observe the ideas that other students have generated (photos of interesting ideas were taken. A group of 4 was then formed around an idea, and the idea was expanded upon and written on a white board (photos included).
