I chose Mr. Keating from the movie Dead Poets Society because he inspires his students to be the best versions of themselves. Also, he is a relatable teacher that the kids look up to. My favorite line from him is when he says, "I stand upon my desk to remind myself that we must constantly look at things in a different way". This is true because you could always look at things with a negative perspective then you can never gain a new perspective on a situation. Also, he sets an excellent example for his students on how to break the norm and be yourself. One student, Neil Perry, wants to be an actor. However, his father does not like this and wants him to become a doctor instead. Mr. Keating encourages Neil to go against his fathers wishes and become an actor.

I chose Herb Brooks (played by Kurt Russell in the phenomenal docudrama Miracle) because despite the many doubts, Herb Brooks led his 1980 Winter Olympic USA hockey team to an outstanding upsetting victory against the popular, favored Soviet Russian team using hard work, faith in his team, determination, and dedication. As soon as tryouts finished Brooks got right to work in perfecting and changing the schedules, practices, and strategies. Despite a heartbreaking 10-3 loss in an exhibition game against the Soviets, Brooks continues to push his team to work hard and encourages them to not give up. He never loses faith in his team which pays off. Wins soon follow and finally Team USA is in the medal rounds. Brooks delivers one of the greatest speeches in sports' history. "Great moments are born from great opportunity, and that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here tonight. One game; if we played them ten times, they might win nine. But not this game, not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight we stay with them, and we shut them down because we can. Tonight, we are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players—every one of you, and you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearing about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw 'em. This is your time. Now go out there and take it!" Through this speech he lifts his team's spirits up with positivity and encouragement. Team USA goes on to win 4-3 against the Soviets taking them to the gold medal finals against Finland. Team USA's hard work and Herb Brooks great leadership, outstanding coaching, and determination pays off--USA wins the gold medal.

I chose Indiana Jones (Indie, and played by Harrison Ford) because he became a very successful person later in life. Indie started out as a boy scout who felt any ancient artifact should belong in a museum. After high school, he became an archelogoist professor- his dream job. On the side, he goes on remote expeditions to forests, deserts and mountians to preserve these artifacts. While all of the action in this anathology is amazing, he teaches the audience that greed can overcome people. He remains sensible and will only take risks when he feels the outcome will be for the better.

When newspaper giants Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise the price of newspapers to 60 cents a pape, Jack becomes president of the newsboys union, which was formed to "watch each others backs, union we stand". These are the words Jack says to the newsies when they are starting a strike against the World, the newspaper company all of the boys work for. He is able to rally together some of the biggest cities in New York and bring together Manhattan, The Bronx, Richmond. Woodside, Flushing, and Brooklyn to get the price lowered back to 50 cents a pape. Jack also takes on the role of protecting the younger boys especially Crutchie the crippled newsie who ends up in the Refuge half way through the show. Jack goes through everything he can to get his best friend back.

From the beginning of his life, instead of just giving up and living his life as a normal ordinary person, he chased his dreams to become an Olympic runner. This shows great leadership because he never gave up and went after his dreams. He soon became an airman in the military, leading to his plane crashing in the middle of the ocean. There he had to survive 47 days lost at sea, to only be found and taken hostage by the Japanese Navy, being harassed about his past as runner. He shows leadership by staying strong and not letting the Japanese general break him down at the camp. Years after being rescued, he also shows leadership by taking the high road and wanting to meet with the Japanese general, only to be turned down.

In Maze Runner, Dylan over achieved and went beyond, being responsible and leading trying to fight for survival and freedom. Also, he was never willing to give up no matter how harsh conditions were getting even while getting injured at times. The most influential thing that I like about this actor is that he was willing to step in and lead and become successful, being the first to ever explore the maze. From the start, he always had high hopes for survival. He was willing to give in especially when nobody was willing to. Its bettering being a giver than being a loser. Hard work did pay off at the end.
