The reason I'll be running for Vice President of Finance & Records is because I'm looking for a more behind-the-scenes position. I was the Activities Commissioner this year for the club, so I would help our president, Alysia, with events such as the Transfer Panel and the Berkeley trip. Although this position is more about the logistics of the club and is something that is almost opposite of what I did, I feel as though it would suit me. I did ASB in middle school and high school for a total of five years and would do things quite similar to this position. I am a political science major as well as a part of honors at skyline college. And The reason why I am especially interested in running for the position of vice president of advocacy is because I generally know a lot about the transfer process and I want to expand my knowledge on the behalf of other honors transfer students to help others understand the importance of the transfer process. And as it says in the title I want to advocate for people to allow others to understand that they can really reach farther than what they believe they can achieve when transferring to a different college. I want to work with others and tell them they can reach their goals and transfer to the school they want especially when doing honors. And I know how to specifically guide them to helping them achieve where they want to go. And I will tell others to always reach farther because I know they can and I will continue to always preach that to others even without the title of vice president of advocacy as that is something I have continued to preach to people during honors seminars. And I had the pleasure to attend the UC berkeley event this year and while I have not gone to a club meeting yet, I know I would be good for this position because when I do something I always stick to it. In the past year, I have been a member of Skyline’s PTK, otherwise known as Phi Theta Kappa, and BCS. By partaking in these initiatives, I have had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated individuals, organizing events and projects that have positively impacted our members.
