Based on Scout Finch's characterization as a tomboy, we can infer that Maycomb is more tolerant of irregular social behavior in well-off families because of Maycomb's treatment of the Ewells. The Ewells go against all of Maycomb's social norms. Due to their irregular behavior, they are outcasts. Scout, however, breaks the lady-like ideals in Maycomb. Yet, she is not an outcast. Therefore, one can infer the monetary standing impacts Maycomb's view on you and members of your family.
