1938- Munich Conference

During the Munich Conference the leaders of Germany were there as well as Britain, France and Italy. This meeting was held in the Führerbau building in Munich, Germany. Which was on September 29 and 30, 1938. In this meeting they discussed an agreement that Hitler should have the Sudetenland in exchange for Germany to make no further demands in land extension. Overall this meeting was held to discuss terms that would satisfy Germany and avoid a second world war.

1939- German Invasion of Poland

The invasion of Poland began on September 1, 1939. This all started when Nazi Germany and the Slovak Republic invaded Poland from the west while the Soviet Union invaded from the east marking the start of World War II. The reason for the invention was because in the treaty of Versailles it would take away their land including the Polish Corridor and the Free City of Danzig. The outcome of this invasion was Poland never formally surrendered, this marked the end of the Second Polish Republic.

1940- German Invasion of France

The German invasion of France which is also known as the battle of France happened on may 1940 and ended on June 1940. The reason for this invasion was to eliminate the French and British threat and secure control of Western Europe. This would allow Germany to focus on the eastern front. The result of this battle was the capture and subjugation of not only France but three other countries which were Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Belgium.

1940- Battle of Britain

The battle of Britain was on July 10th, 1940 and ended on October 31st, 1940. This battle was fought in the sky due to Germany trying to invade Britain. They fought with the RAF and the German Luftwaffe. This battle happened because after Germany's invasion of France the one major power left that was above them was Britain. Hitler's goal was to gain air superiority over the English Channel. If the British and Allied aircrew did not defeat the Luftwaffe it was sure that Germany would have invaded.

1943- German Invasion of Soviet Union/Battle of Stalingrad

The German invasion of the Soviet Union also known as the "Operation Barbarossa" began on June 22, 1941. This event had several reasons on why it began. Some of the reasons was to destroy Soviet industrial power, gain control of the Volga River, secure the Caucasus oil fields, and a plan to capture a city. The result for this event was a Soviet victory against the German Sixth Army. This was by forcing the German's to surrender on February 1943.

1941- Pearl Harbor

The pearl harbor was on December 7th 1941 and lasted one hour and 15 minutes. Japan launched a surprise attack on the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii which led to the united states entering World War II. This event damaged multiple US ships and aircrafts. This happened because Japan wanted to expand its territory and access to resources in the Asia-Pacific region. Attacking Pearl Harbor was intended to neutralize the U.S. Pacific Fleet. It ended in 2,403 Americans were killed and an additional 1,178 wounded.

1944- D-Day

The name D-day was given when the Allied invasion of Normandy, France on June 6, 1944. this was one of the largest amphibious invasion in history. This happened immediate after America's entry into the war and agreement on the 'Germany' first' strategy. The aftermath of this was Germany signing its unconditional surrender to the Allies in Reims, France, on May 7, 1945. The reason for this surrender was because Germany was fighting a two-front war it could not win.

1945- Dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

The dropping of atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki was on August 6 and ended on 9, 1945. The US dropped the bombs to force Japan's immediate surrender and end World War II. While also demonstrating the devastating power of the new weapon to the Soviets. This event resulted in immense destruction and casualties, and contributing to Japan's surrender in World War II. It took Japan 15-20 years for Hiroshima and Nagasaki to physically recover and rebuild into viable cities after the atomic bombings in 1945
