         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are three main ways to think about acids and bases, which are:</p><p><br></p><p>1. <strong>Arrhenius Definition</strong>: This idea says acids are substances that release hydrogen ions (H⁺) in water, and bases are substances that release hydroxide ions (OH⁻). This idea was first explained by a scientist named <em>Svante Arrhenius</em> in <em>1883</em>.  </p><p><br></p><p>2. Another way is a more complex way which is <strong>Brønsted-Lowry definition</strong>, which focuses on acids giving away hydrogen ions (H⁺) and bases taking them. </p><p><br></p><p>3.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Thermochemistry is the study of energy changes, especially heat, during chemical reactions and physical changes. Energy is the ability to do work or transfer heat, while heat is the energy that flows due to temperature differences. The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred or transformed. In chemical reactions, heat changes are measured as enthalpy (ΔH), where exothermic reactions release heat, and endothermic reactions absorb heat. A device called a calorimeter is used to measure these heat changes in a process called calorimetry, which often involves specific heat capacity—the amount of heat needed to raise 1 gram of a substance by 1°C. According to Hess's Law, the total heat change of a reaction can be calculated by adding up the heat changes of its steps. The energy required to break chemical bonds is called bond energy, and this helps determine the overall heat change in a reaction. To predict whether a reaction happens on its own, scientists use Gibbs Free Energy (Δ𝐺), which combines heat, temperature, and disorder.
